i agree with you scattered and i think questioning and debating is healthy and a good way to discuss things,,, i was just trying to say that everyone deserves a little bit of the benefit of the doubt as we are communicating simply with letters and words and tonality and body language and expression can not be taken into account.

 

:iagree: people need to relax over the whole 'drama' ever since it first came out what people were thinking about SE a lot of people freaked out asking, 'whats going on w the place?!' disagreements and fights happen! Life isn't just dancing around mushroom stools w birds chirping in our ear...some things can piss you the crud off and you can talk about them.
Also, just because a lot of people agree that some of the things SE comes out w are rude etc doesn't make them sheeps!! thats a lame thing to say. Anyone who has/had a problem w SE had their own experiences and reasons as to why they felt that way. Nobody just blindly followed one person...which is what being a sheep is. Aduu'h

 

I think discussing differences and mature debates are great...what we have here are people gaining up on one guy and dragging out the same ol drama for no apparent reason....everybody knows some people dont like SE on here....so why talk about it over and over and over and then label it healthy??? Its beating a dead horse. I understand completely that SE offended and continues to offend some folks on here....however....its offensive to others to watch this drag on for days and days and fucking days on end! The argument that I see over and over is...."Oh were upset at SE cuz he bombards noobs with his one sided opinions...blah blah blah....well guess what folks??? Things have been slow around here cuz You all have scared people away with lame ass bickering and petty arguments!!!!!!! Its almost funny.

I agree 100% with you Mandy. Its getting really tired now. It seems that as soon as the 'SE issue' dies down, someone insists on starting up yet another thread with the sole purpose of starting it all up again WHY? WHY? WHY?

I'd just like to add to your post by saying that this is a DISCUSSION forum. Its not a place for people to drop by for a group hug and to be told how lovely they are. People here DISCUSS things, and many and varied opinions are presented. People need to stop being so fucking precious when challenged and/or are presented with opinions that differ from their own. Its like the school yard at times in here. Its like watching a bunch of adolescences throwing insults at each other, then running away and crying when the shit is slung back at them. If acting like a stroppy teenager is where you're at, please do this forum a favour and take your approach to a teen forum instead. I, for one, am an adult, and I want to discuss things like an adult. If SE gets up your nose, you seriously need to grow up, grow a spine, and stop taking it all so fucking personally.

I have found the entire presence of this thread petty, juvenile and really, really offensive. Mandyland is right - its no wonder noobs don't want to hang around here with this crap going on. This thread has been nothing more than a "vent your spleen at SE" session. Happy now? Got all the vitriol out of your systems?

And by the way, to those of you whose think SE's approach towards noobs is harsh, especially ones who drop by with their Knotty Boy kit at the ready and a head full of candlesticks - you may want to take a look at the Knotty Locks forum. Senior members and moderators alike over there generally decend on such individuals like a pack of ravenous wild dogs. They make SE seem positively gentle and patient in comparison.

i disagree with what you said mandy and i think that and urbanhedgemonkeys following post are HUGE generalizations and do not take into account the diversity of this forum.
i dont want to pick at either post so ill just leave it at that.

i pretty much like to think that i speak up when i disagree with someone or think theyre full of shit and always back my argument up, never making unsubstantiated claims.
if someone attacks me i retaliate in kind and would expect someone else to do the same if i attacked them.
i certainly dont go around looking for drama, and i certainly dont single out one member and hound them till they leave (or for drama) just because i dont like them.
and i cant think of anyone here who would do that.

im all for not talking about se all the time (id actually pretty much forgotten about him lately) and as i stated, i think he should just start posting again.
i am fully prepared to act like a normal person (like i always have). if i disagree with something, i will say so, and that does not constitute an attack. i would do the same to anyone else who i thought offered bogus information or said something stupid.

I agree with most of what you've said there urbanhedgemonkey, I do not think however that Zilla intended this thread to end out this way at all. She has been on hipforums for a long time and I'm sure knows SE very well as far as is possible online. it do believe it was meant as a genuine question without meaning to be in anyway confrontational. It might have been better to post it within SE's personal forum or to PM him or something, given the way things are at the moment.

I do agree that with you as far as the noobs go, if I was a noob I'm sure I would be pretty intimidated by seeing also this stuff whirling round at the moment. It is making the forum look rather disorganized and unprofessional at the moment which is a shame because this forum has lots of nice people with lots of great dready info for helping people out.

 

No I don't think Zilla started this post with that intent either. It was just rather sad how many people leapt on it as a chance to have a pop

 

the forums been great for the past week or so... ever since se stopped posting. and no im not laying it all on him, but im just saying: theres no one person or one side causing these arguments (which i still maintain are perfectly healthy but should be kept in one place).

 

See there was no disagreeing going on here, someone just decided to attack another member because of their own personal issues with him. It's not like the sig is a brand new thing none of you have ever seen before. It was completely irrelevant to just start a thread about it. I COMPLETELY agree with mandy & urbanhedgemonkeys posts. This little click that has been going on really needs to stop for the peace of this forum. SE has barely even been posting and he still gets singled out. So his 'bad information' is obviously not the reason as to why people are singling him out atm.

Anyways, like i said, mandy and hedge said everything i was thinking. If you don't understand where they were coming from, well than that is part of the problem right there.

 

oh hun...I love your opinions and advice...Im not knockin anybody for being bold and opinionated....and you do always present very good arguments and I have actually always sided with them. Im just sayin I wish this would stop cuz it gives me a headache....and eventhough I totally get why people are offended by SE I just dont understand why this is continuing....I guess I just have a different perspective then some....I dont take the internet all that seriously. If someone offends me I log off and go on with my day! I have enough drama in my RL...I dont feel a need to perpetuate drama with people I dont even really know...ya know?!

Strangely, your name wasn't one that sprang to mind when I made comments about petty playground behaviour. Perhaps you need to read back over some of the earlier posts in the thread to see what I'm talking about.

i also think this thread was a bad idea, and like i said, i dont think soaringeagles name should be in everyones mouths all the time, its stupid.

i really just think the whole thing should be dropped and we should continue on with our internet lives (im gonna say again that i will continue to voice an often contrary opinion, just so someone doesnt say "look shes just trying to stir shit up again") but that it should probably be discussed first, just so it doesnt come up in some poor noobs thread.
