I think it's rather unfortunate that you cannot accept any blame on your part, ever, SE. It's always someone else doing something else to you. It's always SE the martyr. I can admit to being stubborn, but no more than yourself or others who pride themselves in being opinionated and independent.

I for one am not a sheep (if someone was implying that up thread), and am perfectly capable of forming opinions of my own. I'm not going to sugar coat my opinions or my posts because if you're old enough to dish it out, you should be old enough to eat it too.

There's no need for the melodrama.

 

(I can relate to Soaring Eagle. Ever since my last trip to Jamaica, something happened and now my own consciousness exists in a semi-comatose state in a body that is void of all feelings, and for most purposes, is nothing more than a dead shell. idk, soaringeagle. i dont see why you cant just post like a regular person. your first post in days is a confrontational, argumentative, cuss-filled rant.
maybe if you just start posting instead of lurking and reacting violently when your name is mentioned... you might be seen as a more valued member of this community.

a large number of people here obviosly have a problem with the way you post, but i dont think they want you to leave or anything. just try being more respectful and less rude in your posts, and acknowledge that your opinion is not law (or even based on fact some of the time).
or dont, its your choice. but "teh dramaz" may continue if we dont compromise.

Or not. I don't remember a single instance when you were able to back any of your claims (that I disagreed with) up with any legitimate evidence. The best you could come up with were your google searches (using hit numbers as proof) and strings of random words put together into meaningless sentences. As for drama I haven't seen any drama where you weren't involved. Drama seems to follow you around like your hair drags behind you in the dirt.

I don't go around looking for ways to pick fights with you. Your delusions and paranoia are simply a result of your loss of control over the forum. I've posting loads of advice and relevant information for those seeking. I don't go around telling everyone that they should go natural because its the "best" way. I also don't go around telling people to backcomb because its the "best" way. I give unbiased information based on my experience and based on the kind of advice the person is looking for. Get off your high horse and see things for what they really are.

The forum will do just fine without you. In fact, I predict it will do much better without you. If you are really leaving this time good luck in your internet travels and I hope you've learned a bit of a lesson about being a know-it-all.

fair enough perhaps, if you had actually gone away. and when you came back, realized people had been saying shit behind your back that had not been said to your face.

what about if you already knew said people had a problem with you, but couldnt handle it and stopped posting to see if they missed you.
you keep reading the forums, but not to help out or anything, just to see if youre mentioned. once you finally are (inevitably), you jump right back in with the outraged swearing and we end up where we were weeks ago.

 

Yep. Seems my earlier impression of this thread being a witch-hunt wasn't that wide of the mark after all.

 

Whether lurking or not, I find it all rather sad that entire threads focussing on pulling one member to pieces should even exist.

 

if any one doesnt like what somone says whether it be soaring eagle or anyone else for that matter just dont read it, i dont see why it can"t be that simple. through out life we come across people we dislike or disagree with, and it is how we handle those situations that shows the character within ourselves.

and soaringeagles decision to "leave" is his own. no one here has said they want him gone, only that they want him to show a little more respect, start being more helpful and less fanatical in his posts and stop claiming his unbacked opinions as inarguable truths.

It's pretty straightforward really. It's not just an unprovoked random attack on someone whose name was randomly picked from a hat and could just as easily have been anyone else.

its not that simple when youre a noob to the site and (for example) you need really neat, uniform locks for work and as soon as you post a thread asking how to achieve this hairstyle, soaringeagle is right in there telling you to go natural and that other methods cause serious damage and must be avoided at all costs. then when others give real advice that they have experience with (that just happens to contradict se, b/c its not made up bullshit), he turns it into a big argument.

so what im saying is, its more about the original intent of this site to offer helpful advice, assistance and support to new dreadheads. its not some personal vendetta. some people (like amybird questioning everything and voicing her ideas) are just trying to make this site a better place.
