A molar ratio that would provide enough citric acid to convert all the freebase alkaloids into their citrate salts. Since you dont know the exact amount of alkaloids or acid and its food-safe, use an excess. FYI, an eighth of Cubensis is equal to 9-13 mg of psilocybin.
Nothing short of earth-shattering. He's got a few others in the same vein: Anybody remotely interested in psychedelia, science, philosophy, etc needs to get these. GEB is his masterpiece though, this one will have you in shock that such a book can exist. I actually hunted the internet for the author's email and told him my thoughts, I've never done that, with anything, ever.
I am downloading a pdf version now. Are you familiar with Charles T. Tart? I've mentioned his work a few times in the forums. He was one of the pioneers in the scientific study of consciousness. When he published Altered States of Consciousness in 1969, he was essentially shunned by his academic peers in psychology. That is almost always a sign of something good. I feel that any one interested in human consciousness and altered states of awareness should take a look at his work as well. I think you, Mr. Writer, would appreciate some of his theories about consciousness and how our "normal" state came to be the main state as opposed to others along the whole continuum of awareness. here is an online version of a later work of his; States of Consciousness. http://www.psychedelic-library.org/soccont.htm Can't wait to dig into Hofstadter.
Eat the whole thing, like a soup, with a spoon. Get every molecule of the tryptamines. thanks pb, ill check that out. Enjoy GEB, it is an incredible pleasure to read. His insight is matched only by his literary style.
Youd have to dissolve it in some water, but itd be just fine. Really, any kind of food-safe acid would work.
This is very intriguing! Luckily I just got a quarter of mushies, now I have a new experiment to try!
i agree with everthing said in this thread, also, the water absorbs the active ingredients. this allows the chemicals to hit you faster because your body does not have to break down the mushrooms to get the chemical. It does shorten the trip, but i find its a much cleaner high. Overall a much better experience than just eating the mushrooms.
When you make tea, you throw away the mush. Just making that clear. As long as you do it right, theyre nothing but trash. If you eat the mush, you might as well just eat the dried mushrooms.
So what is the difference between the tea and lemon juice? Why are you supposed to eat the shooms with the juice? Does it not get all of the active ingredients out, and tea does?
you should eat the shrooms in tea as well. you don't have to, for either, however. it's just to get every last active molecule out of the little temples
If you make your tea properly, there is absolutely no need to eat the mush. Thats exactly the reason you make it. Remember, this is an extraction. With the lemon juice shots, you eat the mush because its a horribly half-assed extraction.
Tea is kinda dangerous, you have to be very careful. the come up from tea is extremely powerful and fast unlike the slow gradual come up from eating them. when you eat them i say it takes 1-2 hours to come up, with tea it takes 5-10 minutes. I would estimate 2.5g in tea is similar to eating 4g, be careful. I would not eat the leftover mush, i find the actual mushrooms are what causes unplesantness in your stomach rather then the psilocybin and other active ingredients.
I disagree. But I do agree they come on faster. Just never in 5-10mins for me. More like 30. Agreed. The raw mushroom is what causes the stomach discomfort 9 times out of 10. Although when the mushrooms are cooked, as with tea, the mushroom becomes more easily digestible. I still would not recommend eating the leftover tea shrooms, its pointless really.
lol, I remember when I did this. only shotted a bit, came up like a rocket in about 5 minutes and proceeded to have a long, awesome trip
