Well, I believe that there's too much killing and suffering in the world-I love animals and I think that the world would be better off with less killing and brutality. I can be perfectly healthy without eating meat, in fact healthier, and I think the more compassion that we show in the world, the better off we'll be. I got in this huge argument last night with this so-called "Christian" friend of mine that's always arguing in favor of the death penalty and war-I told him, look-I'm a Christian, and I don't even believe in killing animals, much less people. I mean, what a twisted situation. If people would just try to spread some love and compassion around, the world would be a better place, as far as I'm concerned.

I became a vegetarian on Thanksgiving of all days. That will be 4 years of no meat this next thanksgiving. I chose to change due to health reasons. Meat and most animal products give me diarrhea and no one wants to shit themselves every night lol. Now I only get it if I eat too much sugars, fake shit (candy bars for example) and animal products of some sorts.

I lived with that for 14 years. Horrible way to live. lol I am certainly much happier.

I have been a vegetarian for 29 years but I am not a vegan. I am a vegetarian for religious
reasons. The reason we are feeling compassion for animals is because of the presence of
the spirit soul that is an eternal soul and an eternal person with in the material body. All
bodies are a machine for the soul and all living beings are eternal persons be they a human,
animal, insect, bird or plant. There are different names of god in different faiths and the
name that I call god is Krishna.
    Krishna said :
“The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to
conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the
    mind.”
“The living entity in the material world carries his different conceptions of life from one
body to another as the air carries aromas. Thus he takes one kind of body and again quits
    it to take another.”
“The living entity, thus taking another gross body, obtains a certain type of ear, eye,
tongue, nose and sense of touch, which are grouped about the mind. He thus enjoys a
particular set of sense objects.” Bhagavad Gita 15.7. through 9
“As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old
age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered
    by such a change.” 2.13
“As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new
material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.” 2.22

I'm a mix of all the choices but I became a vegetarian primarily because the production of meat uses so much land its unreal. Over half of our grain goes to feed livestock, talk about a waste. And it takes 16 calories of fossil fuel to make just 1 calorie of beef!

i clicked other i think its a bits of loads of reasons why i choose to be one

    e.g.

Animal rights, not agreeing with the way animals are killed at times, and maybe if I become a vegetarian others and others might follow and just maybe the government will consider killing less animals.

The fact that i did not like the taste of it

I've noticed that the local Govinda's is holding vegan nights two nights a week.
I'm not enamourued of the food, Krsna cooking NEEDS dairy, IMHO.
What is going on society-wide with the veggie-vegan debate?

for me, it is NOT about the "killing the animals". If i hunt an animal, i still kill it, and I don't see ansthing wrong w that. The whole foodchain is done by killing...............
BUT............ i feel for the animals, and the whole concentration camp vibe that we can see in farms is ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING..... The filthy, fashist way those animals are treated.... you know.... the nazi system didn't die, it lives on, AND EVERYBODY EATING MEAT FROM A FARM IS SUPPORSTING this fashism.... All the suffering ,DURING THRERE LIFE TIME (not at the time of their death), is still in the meat, in the air, ....The VIBE lives on.....you think the feelings/vibes of anger, suffering just vanish, just like that??? NOPE, they don't.
We are the one who can make a difference.....
WAKE UP..... and you'll realize that there is a hidden world of oppression going on right in front of us... PEAVE AND LOVE
