Lost my full-time job in the Ohio oilfield working on the drilling rigs. Cuts everywhere between the virus and oil and gas prices dropping. Took me 4 weeks fighting unemployment in Ohio, but finally got my checks coming for the last 4 weeks. Never going back there again. Too old for the amount of hours and rough work. Definitely not the $$ coming in like my paycheck was, but I can definitely work with it since I have everything paid off. Just no insurance now. Wishing everyone the very best during these difficult times!!

Nope, I actually live in Michigan. But working in Ohio for 4 years I had to get unemployment through them. BUT I had to try for medicaid through the state of Michigan. And they're terrible backstabbing people. We even have to pay work taxes A YEAR AHEAD. So we have to pay a year ahead based on the previous year, and heavily fined at the end of the year if it wasn't paid. Anyway, we have to provide documentation for all assets in banks, vehicles owned and every penny in every account. All the way to the previous 3 months before. And they said I had too much in assets for help. Pretty much have to be broke and own a $500 vehicle to get help in this state. And it sucks with all my medical conditions and prescriptions. The assets I had 2 months ago are no longer there that's for sure. But I'll survive. Been through worse times lol

Not me, I was planning on working from home before this arrived anyway. As a mail-order cartoonist this pandemic isn't too bad, I can't get orders internationally though. Also, I don't have a printer, but that's fine because I've lowered my prices on PDFs. Need to get some stable internet and probably a WIndows PC over the next 6 months, set up some office space and fully catalog all my work. I still haven't gotten a stimulus check from the Government. I guess the Government doesn't respect cartoonists such as myself. Kinda unfair, huh? I'm responsible for entertaining the masses over the next couple months.

My last shift was about 5 weeks ago they soon put me on furloughed monthly payments.
It's hard to restructure my daily routine being used to work nights.
I guess will have to look again where I'm going wrong except for cooking where worked the hardest!

I retired at the end of January so my income is guaranteed. Still this is certainly not how I pictured retirement. Finding enough to do when you retire is challenging enough without having to deal with a plague. My retirement plans are on hold too, I was looking into getting an RV or trailer and hitting the road, but what's the point in that if everything's shut down? I also thought I'd try doing some part-time work, something I like doing, but jobs are extremely hard to come by now and I figure it's best to save the few available for those who need them.

At least I haven't caught the virus. I'm over 65 but I don't smoke tobacco, and have cut back on smoking pot for now and am sticking to edibles, with the exception of 420, I took four hits that day. I've never had pneumonia and got a pneumonia shot about six months ago. I think if I catch coronavirus I'll be one of those who gets sick but is able to treat it at home and will feel better after a few days, no need to go to the hospital. Still, you never know.
