Like shit, you must have have some sort of idea of being "hippie" other wise why bother clicking on this site and registering, if you dont have some sort of hippy ideal. Like BrokenChantress said "it seems kind of odd".

I did, read my post a few back, it mentions that you are looking at the term hippy in a very narrow way, as well as expecting everyone here to buy into a cliche instead of expressing themselves.

I don't call myself a "hippy" either.....i don't call myself anything. You'd just think that a place called the "hip forums" would have some element of peace.
No one ever said that there were hippie rules that had to be followed. What I think people are trying to get at is that this was supposed to be a peaceful free speach site, and instead it's turned into a messy riot. If it was to be otherwise, it wouldn't have been dubed a place for hippies.

And I am here because I like it here. I didn't come in with a cookie-cutter stereotype in mind looking for clones. This would be a pretty boring forum if every person was the same. I found it while searching for something else, and stayed. So what if it says hippy in the title? Whoop-dee-do.

I was trying to say that this was meant to be a place for hippies, as there are other forums for people who love bush, music, trees, etc.....and people usually associate hippies with peace. Afterall, that's what they're about, isn't it? But now it's just a big mess with people who don't respect what they stand for, and it's gone beyond free speech.

 

well, I for one, am still here for a few reasons. I do enjoy the intellegent conversations and what other people have to say. there's a lot of helpfull, smart people here. And I'm not about to go running away because there's some people who I don't like.
"I'm sick of this place" was meant in an, "why can't people just be understanding," way than an "I'm leaving," way.

 

simply because i like to be here, why must i call myself something to go somewhere? thats so dumb. i like the topics and i like SOME of the people here, i also like some "hippie" bands, once again, i don't need to call myself something to be here.

 

ha! I don't even like "hippie" bands other than Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and maybe a few others..
I can't stand jam bands, i don't think they even qualify as true hippy bands anyway, even though thats what people associate hippies with now.

I shower fairly regularly, at least 4 or 5 times a week, so you see i do have a little hippy in me.


Plus I took so much acid as a teen/early 20's person that I'm an honorary member.

 

if i wear biodegradable tampons, would that make me a hippie...
