iamnotta. i can only say what i have seen and it isnt only fox news reporting on the horrible conditions even if you wish that were the case. i have also done my share of traveling and have never had only cold water or missing door knobs or been told not to flush toilet paper down the toilet but instead put it in a waste basket.

I don't have a television but if I did, I'd be boycotting because of Sochi's inhumane treatment of their stray dog population; and because of Russia's persecution of human's who identify as LGBTQ, etc.

 

I agree with you on both points...but...I don't watch very much tv myself and I enjoy the Olympics so I'm not going to punish myself for Russia's actions.

 

And the 15 or 16 yr old Russian ice skater has ice water running through her veins. Absolutely outstanding performance.

I love watching the Olympics, especially the Winter ones. I am so freaking excited to see the freestyle skiing competitions.

 

only a few of them look like that, a few look like they just had sex. and some just have the facial expression of someone having sex. there are a few that just should not be on that list though...still mostly fun pics.

I dont like that kind of thing, boycotting sports for politics.

It is kind of analogous to not supporting the troops cos one doesnt agree with the war.

Definate lack of foreign dignitaries at the Opening ceremony, for whatever the reasons, it was kind of bad taste

Eh, the athletes won't miss my support. The sponsors won't even miss my support. My little boycott won't matter to anyone but me.

If Russia had announced it's change of heart regarding Gay rights prior to the Olympics being scheduled there, that may have made a difference.

 

Indeed, it only matters to the person who chooses to watch or not. If you get a lot of pleasure out of watching the olympics you better go watch it. Otherwise, you can invent what ever reason for not watching. I don't think it matters to anyone else at all. I'm already boycotting it out of lack of interest myself. I don't have the illusion I'm helping homosexuals with it at the same time

 

The Olympics is just another event that distracts people and creates competition between countries, I am not into it at all

 

It doesn't matter now, in the grand scheme of things. It's a personal principle with me.

 

With me kind of the same Except it is not primarily gay rights related. And it is really easy for me since I was not interested in watching any of it in the first place

 

Too, alot of animal lovers are up in arms with the sudden "care" being shown the stray dog population in Sochi.
