im not in their desperation to know exactly how i would react.....but i am guessing i would be freaking too...

 

right now marie it is really difficult to do anything other than post things on forums and websites and such. They say to contact your local chapter of the american red cross, which dilli has been diligently attempting to do but the phone lines are so jammed up it is all but impossible to get through.. There is no real infrastructure to anything related to the mess it is just that,,, a giant mess...Folks that are coming into the general atlanta area can get govt assistance, schooling n health care just by goin to the different agencies n saying they are from Loisiana etc.... bout a hundred miles from here one family has 37 family members in a four bedroom two bath home... but yet in the time we have spent on two computers looking for ways to post housing options etc there seems to be none really,,,, on the way home from work there was a place called travellers aid but i have not been online to check n see if they also have a website .... we have heard a lot of people ask bout how to let folks know they have rooms ohmes for folks but seems to be a majority consensus that these type places will start popping up after the initial mess is taken care of,,, just gettin folks outta the places n moved into shelters n all that shit.... and slowly folks will also have tv , phone, net access to check us all out as well.... even with us being a good long ways from hurricane areas,,, cell phones n shit even here are sketchy .... guess we have to keep on looking for places n such and let others know what we find n where etc as they begin to be known.... hell we be figgering a couple two three weeks yet....

Well, one COULD commandeer boats, cars etc. to try and help but

1) you'd be repulsed and

my parents worry is the type of person they would be housing...you just never know....they are fear driven people...

i mostly drive,, an spend a thirty minute warm up in babylon,, an in a average 12 hour day i actually bust ass about 6 of it,, errr dilli does a extra hour or two than me a lotta days here..

 

but her lazy ass sits an snoozes,, OWWWW,, well she sits there ,, we spend about 4 to 5 hours a day drivin or ridin..

first off- i know canada is going to help, so right off the bat your guess is bull.
second- i know you probably hate america but you need to realize that not all the citizens are probush and are dumb and stupid just because they live in a nation everyone hates. you want to be out there with a risk of getting a disease? with your home in ruins and submerged in water with all your most cherished possesions?

disasters like these can happen to anyone and EVERYONE deserves the chance to get help to start over.

things like these, as unfortunate as they are, should bring the world together not divide it apart.

nah not worth my very precious energy at the moment.... not something i got much of lately so therefore cant justify expending something i got so frikkin lil of....
tween stress n no where near enuf hours in the day,,, n this whole katrina thing has me all sorts of emotional n yet outraged n shit sometimes downrite pissed off n yet still have this wild urge to go n help n yet know its all but impossible n know how much a site for taking folks in needs to be online etc n i aint got the time n it needs to be done by someone much higher up in the govt bullshit chain to get noticed,,,,, ... thank the lite i got some green energy today,,,,, otherwise a death was likely to occur at some point this coming dry:O weekend...

 

im personally happy to have heard on the news today that canada, germany and other countries have pledged money......
