Do you drink them in a glass?
    Any condiments?
    Milk?
    Toast?

Ummmm, no, it's actually a very healthy part of my diet. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but my needs are different than most peoples. I lift weights 3-4 times a week, consume 4-5,000 calories and 200-300 grams of protein every day. Eggs are the most bioavailable form of protein known to man, and a dozen provides me with 840 calories and 72 grams of the perfect protein every morning. Why would you assume that I was trying to kill myself?

Shane, I crack 3 in a glass at a time, and chase it with either orange juice or a red bull. After that I eat 2 slices of 100% whole wheat bread to get the necessary complex carbs in order to allow my body to actually process the nutritional content of the eggs.

I have my cholesterol checked every month (I work part time as a phlebotomist, so I can draw and process my blood whenever I want). My good cholesterol (HDL) is normal, and my bad cholesterol (LDL) is actually lower than normal.

    Cool.

This might sound like a stupid question but:

How does someone who knows jackshit about nutrition(me) and exercise go about getting on a decent diet and workout like that?

I could choke down a few eggs and o.j., and i already eat 100% whole wheat bread.

Are there resources i could look up?

I'd like to start living a lot healthier than i do (includes quitting smoking, i'm working on that).

p.s. i don't have the time or money for a personal trainer...

    Wow, that's really good then!

I have to really watch around here because of all the heart disease in my husband's family, his cholesterol is on the high side even though I try and cook super healthy. The doctor says it's hereditary however. My husband does protein shakes. I should probably check the cholesterol content on those!

Shane, good question, in order to decide what diet would be best suited for you, I would first need to know what your goals are. Are you trying to lose weight, bulk up, just get a little definition, etc... it took me years of research to educate myself, mostly through college level fitness and nutrition classes. This was before I had access to the internet, and lucky for you, you've got a great tool right at your fingertips. Just a warning though, make good judgements when deciding who to get your advice from. A lot of people have a lot of different theories. Take me for example. I eat a dozen raw eggs every morning, yolk and all. My body can handle that because my metabolism is through the roof. While most people are trying to restrict the amount of fats and calories they consume each day, I have to make sure to get a MINIMUM of 3,500 every day, or else my body becomes catabolic (muscle tissue breaks down). You will want to find someone with whom you share similar goals with, maybe someone who was in your position that has found a program that worked for them, chances are it will work for you as well. Keep in mind, however, that everybody is different, and the most important thing is to listen to your body. Only through a process of trial and error will you be able to fine tune a program that will be tailor made for your body and goals. The same goes with excercise, everybody is different... there are programs designed to help you meet your specific aspirations, taking into account your current circumstances. These are great to set up the framework of your routine, but again, listen and observe your body, take notice of what works and what doesn't and adjust accordingly. That being said, I would recommend checking out some fitness forums such as http://forum.bodybuilding.com making sure to focus on the nutrition and exercise categories, and for now foregoing all the supplement and pro bodybuilding categories. Another good forum is http://forums.steroid.com Yeah, it focuses a little bit on steroid use but those juicers have some pretty good information when it comes to training and nutrition, but for the love of god stay off the juice! lol It's important to search through the threads and become a sponge for information. Try not to ask any obvious questions that you could have just as easily done a quick search through the existing threads to find the answer to. You'll find that members and mods are a lot more willing to help those who help themselves. Anyways, that should get you off to a good start, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me anytime and I'll help you out the best I can. Good luck and have fun with it! :]

while i have cooked eggs (in a variety of ways, including making egg 'popcorn' in a microwave) and toasted bread (using a variety of tecniques and tecnologies as well), i cannot say as i have ever MADE an egg or a piece of toast. (although come to think of it, i HAVE made bread from scratch a time or two, but i'm not really that fond of it to very often bother, even if sandwitches are convenient and the dam stuff is bloody deer at the store).

i'm also somewhat questioning the distinction between an omlet and scrambled eggs.
(the latter being a, granted the most simple, form of the former.)

    Go fitzy go! [IMG]

I made a scrambled egg this morning and thought of you. I thought, let me try eating this egg, good, yummy protein. I ate it, and then felt like I was going to puke for hours afterwards.

That doesn't sound very good, does it? I was thinking of you, and then I wanted to puke. :leaving:

gotta be patient with them yolks

i remember coming home from a night of lots of drinking and being wicked hungry. i made bacon, eggs and toast while hungover. had it all on the plate and dropped the plate into the cat food. toast and bacon were alright and still edible, the eggs weren't - the yoke broke and got mixed in with the cat food. i almost cried

ew i cant stand yoke anyways, i prefer them scrambled or fried where the yoke is not runny and gross. My daughter is the one who likes them with the yoke, poor girl never gets them the way she wants them.

as for the eggs in the cat food------------:( aw poor fitzy.!!
