But getting back around to the subject of the thread...

Obviously we get a lot of info about somebody via body language, facial movements, tone of voice, and choice of words, and a lot of that info we pick up subconsciously. On the other hand, there is such a thing as instantly perceived knowledge, having nothing to do with external cues, as discussed earlier by scratcho and a bit by me. Do we know for certain, swooosh, that what drew is experiencing is not of the instantly perceived type? I mean, maybe you, being certifiably enlightened, know this, however I, being only certifiably deranged, do not.
