yes they are but they are part of the "circle of life" and we are too...to eat, procreate and finally to be consumed by worms or sharks or sumthin.
read the dialogue and don't give me that crap, you killed 5 million bacteria typing out this post. Killing is a built-in function of nature, an inherent process as necessary as birth and decay. You are looking at the cycle of the universe, picking out one arbitrary stage (death) and saying "Nope, can't have any of that". What you don't get is that the universe would be unlivable without death.
The first people to ever use the word God did not necessarily have the only definition or even the correct definition for that matter. Karma existed before we had a word for it and the first definition for the word karma is not necessarily the correct meaning. Actually when we consider how complex this reality is it would make sense that we would only better understand its definition with time. The older the text is the more likely that the meaning gets lost in its translation anyways. Written text or any sort of religious books are only good for the time they are written and even then it is only another perspective. Not only is the language that we use now completely different but even the way that we understand reality is different. Seeing that we have an unlimited access to all universal truth through our own consciousness there is no need to seek truth out in religious texts or any book for that matter. Meditate and use common sense as all the answers are within you. You may think it wise to acquire your spiritual knowledge through ancient religious text but this is actually one of the biggest mistakes you can make. First off you are undermining your own abilities to understand this on your own without any book and secondly you are overlooking the fact that this text was written far too long ago to have any literal meaning in this time. This book you refer to and most other religious text are far too outdated to be trusted as a literal source for spirituality.
The quote I was referring to if taken literally means that we have no choice or free will. A lazy person or an evil person would not have to twist its meaning to find comfort as the literal meaning removes personal responsibility.
