There is "alone" and then there is "lonely". The two don't necessarily go hand-n-hand.

That's true, but when you're lonely and look around and there's nobody there, hasn't been anybody there and doesn't look like there will be anybody there in the foreseeable future..... Well, it kinda sucks.

OMG, I'm the opposite. December is the one month of the year where I'm most thankful to the baby Jesus that I never bred. Supermarkets full of mums pushing around trolleys with a couple little brats in tow - blerrrk

And with most of my extended family even once a year is too much, all they friggin do is bitch and whine all the time. I fuckin hate Xmas day, tactic last couple years is get tanked over lunch so I'd have an excuse to go have a nap and not have to deal.

I have to say that I truly enjoy the time i have to myself, to reflect and really think about what I am doing with my life. Whether I am single or in a relationship i tend to enjoy the times i have to reflect. But yes from time to time when I am single loneliness definitely creeps in and you wish you had that someone next to you to talk to and to cuddle with, but that just makes you appreciate the times that someone is there that much more :D

Christmas is the latest version of a tradition that goes back thousands of years in Europe.
It's cold and snowy; it's dark, no leaves on the trees, and food is whatever dried stuff you managed to stash away from last harvest.
So the tribal elders decided to help their people kick the wintertime blues.
They got out of their stone huts, built big fires for light and warmth and invited everyone to dance around the fire, drink a little beer, cherish their current partner, find a new partner and next thing you know, folks are not feeling so bad about themselves anymore. Just when they start getting gloomy again, spring arrives with longer days and fresh flowers to cheer everybody up.
It worked pretty well all those years. Let's not assume that just because our ancestors lived in stone huts and led simple lives that they were stupid. In a lot of ways they had common sense about everyday life that we have forgotten.

So, please don't sit around in your stone hut this winter. That ain't gonna work. Find out where the bonfire is this year, and catch the eye of that cute villager you've noticed since last harvest. A little beer and some dancing and it will be springtime before you know it!

So why do you think your lonely/Alone guys?

I am very anti social, but not on purpose I was always like this. I always keep to myself.
And i'm starting to have social anxiety. Or i'm just shy and think people are thinking negative things about me.

    I dunno. I'm alright I guess. I have a couple girls and a dog.

Realistically the girl I really like I'm just seeing on the side and she has a live in boyfriend though. Which brings about the question, what do I get a girl with a boyfriend for christmas?

The answer I've found is a cactus.
