The question is, will the wicked witch of Westmister allow the issue of drugs and harm reduction to become a devolved Scottish issue?

It's definately a step forward, and I've been a critic of the SNP for not speaking out about this for a long time and now finally they have, so maybe I and others have been listened to.

Of course, Amber Fudd and the rest of the prohibitionist tory scum wont like something like cannabis being decriminalised, or even legalised because that would encourage drugs tourism from England! Well tough shit bitch, maybe it should be legal in the whole of the UK! I mean it's a god damn human right!

Whatever happens, I think there will be a lot of resistance from the tories on this, but if the Scottish government manages to gain devolved powers (which they should have anyway because it was promised 3 days before the referendum in 2014 by lying bastard tory scum david Cameron!) then they'll have enough MSPs to vote through whatever they decide, and hopefully that should include decriminalisation at least of cannabis and cultivation rights.

I live near the border so if cannabis gets legalised in Scotland but not in England then I'll be in business! [IMG] just a pipe dream at the moment though.

The United Patients Alliance http://www.upalliance.org/ are currently/today having a cannabis tea party in Parliament Square in London, ingesting medibles and defying the law in protest of the tory scum and their persistent attack on our human rights. This was organised in collaboration with labour MP Paul Flynn who stood up in parliament earlier this year and called on cannabis users to come to the houses of parliament and break the law, mass disobendience. He is pushing for a change in the law in the UK this autumn, which will no doubt be met with resistence from the deluded sociopath we currently have residing in Number 10.

No mention of this in the mainstream yet (surprise) and instead Theresa is out media spinning something about the rights of ethnic minorities. She's launching "a world-leading project on the impact of ethnicity on people's lives. Time to tackle injustice." Tell that to the victims of Grenfell!

See these tory bastards and their disingenuous crap, makes my toe nails curl. [IMG]

Intelligent, what the Labour MP has to say. He's so cautious, lol.

What really caught my attention was:
It sounds like everybody understands. So what are they going to do? :)

I'm glad he didn't exclude the possibility of recreational use (sounded like he nearly was at one point) because recreational is also medicinal and as soon as it's legalised for medicinal then suddenly everyone who likes to smoke weed is going to develop a back problem, or sleeping issues..

If we only get as far as medicinal though that's still a plus for the recreational side anyway since they can't really justify sending anyone to jail for taking a drug that other people are allowed to use for medicinal reasons. They don't send people to jail for getting addicted to street valium. So we can breath a sign of relief and no that as long as we're not dealing and it's for personal only the worst that will happen is you get raided and your drugs/plants taken.

As for Scotland, Westminster will have to approve new devolved powers for Scotland and then Scottish government will have to push changes through parliament, which will all take time, so our best hope at the moment is Paul Flynn's motion in Westminster, and if a vote in parliament gets approved down in London it might actually have a chance of going through since I think the majority of MPs (even the tory scum) are now sympathetic towards medical users. Scotland will likely take years to come in to effect, and even if WM has any intention of approving devolved powers to Scotland you can bet your ass they will drag their feel until near to or after the next Scottish election in the hope of reducing the numbers of SNP MSPs in Holyrood. As it stands now the SNP are the majority party so they can pretty much vote through anything they like, but it's a narrower margin than during their previous tenure.

The way the SNP are going though I reckon they'll nail it again next Scottish election.
