    Depends.

I mostly smoke only in the evenings. Not prior before going to bed, but a few hours before. Helps me both to relax after a hard day of work, and helps me to sleep very easily when it is wearing off.

I never smoke straight before bed, it's a waste of expensive buds in my opinion. Unless you have some SERIOUS sleeping problems, it's always better then taking sleeping pills you can take that from me. Although in my situation ... I sleep better when it is wearing off then when I go to bed high. When I feel high, I just don't want to sleep. Hehe, just way to nice to be stoned.

I almost always smoke at night, usually an hour or so before I go to bed. It's a nice way to unwind and end the night while the arms of sleep slowly close my weary, red eyes.

I`m glad I read this thread. I thought I was the only one who smoked every night before bed. I, too, have trouble sleeping and the pot helps.

I can't sleep if I smoke within an hour before attempting sleep. My mind just babbles and babbles and chatters and babbles no matter what I do until the high starts wearing down/ exhaustion takes over. It usually keeps me up for an hour or so, so I don't smoke before going to bed anymore. If my tolerance is high, it will make me tired in about three hours, so I just time my session accordingly.

When I'm not in school, it's really hard for me to go to sleep because I don't tire myself out by working all day on school stuff. But by "before bed", I don't mean 20 minutes before. The marijuana still helps me sleep a good 4 hours after smoking.

i think its a waste to be high before bed. i mean your sleeping. and if you need it to fall asleep, then you probably wshould reconsider your habit.

ususally i come home stoned and fall asleep pretty easily, but cause i live with my parents i can only smoke once they fall asleep, and that's at around 12:00 which ruins the whole point of using pot as a sleep aid, since i could've fallen asleep sometime before that.

I think it is because whats the point on getting high when you dont even get to enjoy the feeling. You smoke weed, stay high for like 5 minutes and then you pass out when instead you can be out with friends having a good time and smoking more weed and getting even higher. Thats just my opinion. I hate smoking and then going to bed, i like being high and doing things.

sometimes the high lasts all the way til you wake up and youre still a little buzzed. but man going to sleep stoned is the best way to sleep. awesome dreams and it feels like youre sinking in to the mattress...i highly recomend it

    Exactamundo.

I find even relaxing while high to be quite rejuvinating, equivelant to sleep almost. That hour before dozin off seems to "count" as about an hour of bein sleep, or at least, thats how it works out in the time I wake up. If I don't smoke, I tend to sleep for a good long while (assuming nothing to do), sometimes 12 hours. If I do smoke its proportionate... high all day, I can snooze for 4 hours and pop right up, still buzzed of course, but ready to take on the day.

This is why I love to smoke before sleep, its like a freebie. It also helps me zip right into a lucid dreamstate... this is where most of my reflection takes place, and its where I've answered many life questions. I find marijuana to be the best overall aid in seperating mind from body... not gonna send you on a bad trip, but most definitely can be used to induce a lucid dream... which IMO is much more useful.

Btw... this only holds true for all/mostly indica... sativa makes the time FLY by and keeps me up. Sativas do tend to make me crash on the comedown, which can lead to some kickass sleep... but I almost always sleep longer and deeper.

A good sativa makes a superb midday smoke (just back from work), and indica is the only way to snooze :)

Ah btw... smoking *directly* before you intend to go to sleep is most definitely a waste, all I've ever gained from that is waking up like normal, just more buzzed.

I had one dream that came in after dipping into a lucid dreamstate and slipping off into regular sleep...

I was watching starwars, and I was something like Han Solo in my dream, it was awesome, one of the best I've had... but wam, took a turn for the worst and to make things short I was on a rollercoaster that fell off the track and I HIT the ground face first and died... only for that to be reversed, so I could hit it again, but before I hit it again I woke up and I was choking something fierce. I think it had more to do with the severe (COMPLETELY DRY) cottonmouth I had than anything, but that dream was pretty rough.

Weed is my sleep aid. If I don't smoke before bed I can't fall asleep for hours.

Drinking before bed also reduces the ammount of time spent in REM sleep, so you aren't really getting a good night's sleep.

The best is smoke watcha bit of tv. go to bed. listen to tunes a while. drag ur significent other into the situation, drift off into sleep. its like u cant tell if ur asleep or stoned stupid. Then wake up and smoke a bowl in bed. Its like a continuous high feeling.

I like to smoke like, about two hours before I go to bed. That way I'm not really that high when I go to bed, but it is easy to sleep.

smoke a bowl, put on some headphones, lay down and listen to something acoustic usually.

i'm getting a pair of koss pro4aat headphones in the mail soon, frequency response of 10-25KHz, those should be nice.
