I like that, and I like that he's not afraid to speak that over a fan base that's quite Southern and of course don't agree with him about it. So I think putting your fan base up to your activist agenda is pretty brave. that's what I like reading you know. Everyone else on social media types bullshit posts so they friends can see and they think they're doing something for the cause, but like I've said many bloody times, you gotta get out there and voice it and stand by it, that's what is respectful.

I think what's great about it maybe speaks a volume or two for me too because I like the guy a lot and our political views do clash and yet, I admire and respect the guy a lot.

One of our disagreeing political views is I'm all for the death sentence while he has pretty much fought against it his whole career. He seems to stick up for the emotions of the executioner more than the prisoner at times.

Well I think he's a legend anyway. and I wouldn't expect him to put food on anyone's table or weed in anyone's bowl because like he told me one day personally "I live in NYC, and rent ain't cheap"

That was last Year in march when I saw him two night in a row and got my vinyls and things signed. and I wore a Jeff Gordon jacket. And he didn't say anything. =\ but he looked at it and smiled because he remember the night before I wore mossy oak camo with a Fluro 24 on it. Teehee.

That's a dude that could have a lot and chooses not to I mean travels the world on tour and still rents an apartment. It's admiring. But totally not for me fuck that I love the outdoor country here and my house.

 

I like his record of Townes songs.I had it but sold it during one of my CD dumps at the exchange shop. Read a biography of him. Sold that too in a book dump. Pretty wild character.

I didn't really know Townes until I bought that record and when I re-watch a YouTube concert I went to he played Pancho & Lefty and I can't remember it because I can't associate it with anything I'd heard previously. It really burns me! Of course I could have been at the bar getting drinks too. but still I remember all else.

My favorite Townes song is Mr. Mudd & Mr. Gold. That whole story in that song from a poker game was really creative, plus the finger picking guitar work I think is awesome the rhythm. Steve & Justin did a good recreation but doesn't beat original.
