Maybe he's dyslexic and the lyric was "smoke a J" but when he read it he thought it was an L.

Rap guys can have grammatical difficulties too

an L est blunt. i believe it originated with the white kids calling joints J's so the black people started calling blunts L's to be kewl or some such nonsense.

 

I always assumed he meant a blunt, I don't expect anything coming out of Nelly to make sence anyway.

"L" can also mean LSD, but that doesnt make too much sense in this context.

by the way, does anyone else find it humorous how some people seem to be thinking of themselves as bad-asses while smoking a blunt? but they´re actually serious about it - like, "man, check me out..."

i've always thought blunts were alot more for looks than anything

if i want to get as high as possible, i would smoke 3 normal size joints instead of 1 blunt, i guarantee you in the end i will by 10 times higher smoking the regular size joints.
