Americans celebrate the shooting of police officers by stocking up.

Smith & Wesson, the arms manufacturer, has seen it's stock rise recently. I am sure they are very happy about it.

I think its due to fear of (1) having guns banned and (2) fear of becoming the next victim.

I am interested to see if there is an increase in suicides, incidents involving children and accidental deaths/injuries to go along with the surge in gun sales.

Suicudes are unconnected to gun sales. Japan has a low gun ownership yet one of the highest suicide rates in the modern world. Australia when it banned guns it didn't affect the suicides. As for accidents. Guns sales have went up while accidents are lowering. There have been only 600 fatal accidents per year now in a population of at least 80 million gun owners and at least 400 million privately owned guns.
