I find it low key annoying when people insist that I smile. I used to hear it a lot and it usually came from middle aged men when I was working at restaurants or out in public. At first it's harmless, but over time it feels patronizing.

I used to have this guy who talked to me online who would write "smiles" after everything he wrote. It was really creepy. It was like he was threatening me, even though the conversations were mostly boring conversations. I could tell that his heart was completely black.
