Don't like the word at all...especially used by males. Seems it's cool for the dudes to dig sex, esp. w/multiple partners, but it ain't okay for chicks. Nahh man, they're sluts. Bullshit. I've enjoyed spending time with quite a few women who enjoys the hell outta sex, not necessarily with just one person. As long as everyone involved is careful and takes responsibilities for their action, I cannot see anything wrong with that.
its alright liek if ur friends call it you as a joke. but i hate it when most of my female friends stay calling other girls sluts, as i know its mostly just because theyre jelous of that girl. and to me a slut isnt a girl/boy if he/she sleeps around only really if she liek cheats on every boy shes in a serious realtionship with and doesnt bother using contraceptives. Like i have been called a slut just because i have slept with people that im not in a realtionship with. But fuck that shit , im only 17 i have the rest of my life to be serious with one person, for know im enjoying being young, but i stay safe. people can do who they like, when they like, where they like, as long as they make sure they dont get std's and pregnant and all that. I despise the word when it's used in it's defaming context. Your sexuality is just that, yours. It's part of who you are, and for society to tell you that the way you express it is excessive and wrong (assuming you're not into rape or pedo stuff) is just ridiculous. Double standards are complete bullshit; we need to fight against them, the world needs to embrace sexual freedom, repulse sexual suppression, and mind it's own damn business.
Heres my thought on the whole thing. Girls are called sluts for sleeping around because they control sex. At any time, most girls could leave the house and come back with a guy willing to have sex. So to overuse it is in a sense an abuse of power. As for guys this isn't the case. Its more of a mission to get a girl for sex which is why guys are usually credited for getting many girls because they were able to (for lack of a better term) break through a girls defenses.
I dont see how a person that simply likes to fuck can be labeled a slut in the first place. If your single your free to do what you choose sexually. In fact if your free spirited, your free to do what you choose reguardless. I personally couldnt give a shit what others think about me as long as i'm having great sex with a lover or lovers.

In terms of a girl being a slut: To me, this term is applicable as a personality characteristic. A girl's sluttiness isn't defined by the number of times she's had sex or number of partners she's had. A perfectly wholesome woman may have had sex thousands of times over the course of 10 years with a few guys she was completely devoted to at the time. Sluttiness is being cheap, superficial, reckless, flimsy, hung up on lust and power, self-indulgent beyond reason, submissive to corrupt forces or influences, and generally willing to sell out one's inherent divinity and ignore one's spirit to take a shallow role in someone else's cheap game because of the short-term fun or glamour or attention or power that comes with it. It's like when Pink Floyd said, "Did they get you to exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?" Sort of like, have you abandoned the innate human struggle for cheap thrills and mundane pleasures?

I hate that word. Most male figures of my family called me a slut ever since i was a small child, around 4, so yea... And your right, it does hurt a girl emotionally. However, if my husband calls me his slut during sex i find it to be a turn on. Notice i said his slut, not a slut. Same goes for his whore, or his whatever. The difference between the two is that to me, a slut is girl (or guy) who has sex with mulititudes of random people, for the simple reason of doing it and filling that empty little space in his or her life with pleasure. You know its funny, I had this same conversation recently. It is all in ownership of any word. A girl I know said she hates being called a bitch, but she likes being called MY bitch. It is a turn on and it is not said in a derogatory manner....this can apply with many different words...
