To me, being called a whore or a slut in bed is a turn-on... And whenever someone calls me a slut, I just admit to it. Usually that catches them off guard and shuts them up. I can honestly say girls are usually the culprit when the insult is thrown out there.

People should just live and let live. Calling someone else a slut is just dumb. The only sexual activity I have a problem with is a girl intentionally trying to get on someone else's man or woman when she is clearly not wanted. But you know, it's that whole honesty thing.

This is an interesting discussion. I never really thought about the term "slut" having so many different meanings to different people. This is what it means to me. Of course it depends on the context. The word "slut" when used with a negative connotation means sexual impropriety that was ultimately hurtful to someone else. For example, I have written to this forum about sexual conduct in which I betrayed the trust of a friend. That, to me, was slutty. I don't, however, consider sexual promiscuity in general to be slutty. A person can have a very active sex life and not be a slut. And in bed, of course, names like "slut" or "whore" can be used as terms of endearment. "Kiss me you little slut."
I think calling a girl a slut in a bad way is appropriate when, like Vegan Girl said, they're trying to steal your guy/girl. To me, the word "slut" is used in a derrogative term when its used to insult a girl who is doing something to hurt someone else through sex. Like stealing your friend's significant other, chronic cheating, etc.
i think it depends on who says it. it's ok for my female friends to say it too because I know they dont mean it. I hate when guys call me a slut in the joking manor because it makes me very insecure however i think it's hot in bed. but if i were walking down the street and someone called me one i would be highly offended.

The word should, in this day and age, be considered meaningless - it has so many definitions that it has been lost to useage except by partisan religionists! (whose opinions, at least to me, are of no value.)

A slut is different for everyone, but for me is a girl who cheats on someone they care about. A slut is also a girl who does not think of her future when she is in fucking and sucking. A slut is in essence a female who you could not see ever being a significant other, becuase she is a used coat. I am verry sorry if this offends you, but that is my opinion and I could be wrong admittedly. I think just like anything else sluts have a place in our society and play a great role today, and always will. NOt ervrybody can be Dr. Quinn Medicene Woman, nor should they try to be. If I was a woman I am sure I would not agree with this sentiment, or if I hadnt been the product of a mother who has been married seven times and always put men before us.
