I like Slipknot, not quite as much as I used to (much more into Lamb of God) but I still listen to them from time to time. For the people who say they're the worst band ever, seriously, lighten up, you must not have heard of Headley...(HATE SO GOD DAMN MUCH)

I don't see how people can say they aren't metal after you hear (sic). That's one of the most intense metal songs ever. I'm not saying they're the best band ever, but they are damn good.

I used to like Slipknot, but Corey is an ass, the new CD's suck, they have 2 lame guys hitting iron things with sticks (which you barely hear in their songs), and they suck live.

Can you suggest an alternative? Sic has some badass intensity that I have not heard any other song match. And how do they suck live? They were one of the best shows I've ever seen second only to GWAR.

Slipknot blows live...ive seen 'em atleast 6 times...try going to see Dimmu Borgir or System of a Down...they both put on good shows...

Slipknot isnt metal...its heavy rock music...intense metal is like Mayhem, Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer, and Burzum...even Slayer is more intense...

Slipknot will fit perfectly into one of Metal's many sub genres, which still makes it a form of Metal. It won't fit into the same genres as Burzum, Darkthrone, Emporer, Behemoth, Estuary, Necrophagist, Stormtroopers of Death, Morbid Angel or Obituary, BUT it's still a form of Metal (even if it IS of the unpopulated 'Nu'-metal variation). But sorry, hard rock - my arse. Hard rock is an umbrella for genres like punk and grunge, and faster, more upbeat rock music.
Tenacious D/Thunder/Alice Cooper/Bon Jovi/Guns n Roses is more 'Hard Rock'.

Dont really like Slipknot and never really have. Its not neccesarily that the music is bad (I think there is MUCH better stuff out there) but all the kids who have just got into metal and think its the cool thing to listen to. You know the ones I mean.

I admit I used to be a bit like that, but never listened to slipknot much, or all other Nu-metal bands, except Linkin Park ect.

Now its when they realize that there are much much better bands out there that I start to have a little more respect for them (I know it doesnt mean much but whatever).

As for me its Thrash Metal and Death Metal being my preffered genres, but I listen to a lot of music- Anything from Black Metal to Jazz to Physcadelic.
