Are any of you familiar with the affliction of sleep paralysis? It's caused by irregular sleep patterns.

You wake up and your body is frozen. You can open your eyes. You can't yell.

Then you feel a presence, usually malevolent. You can physically feel it attacking you, tactile hallucination.

You know what the cure is? That works every time? Calling out to Jesus.

How do you explain that one?

Calling out to Jesus works everytime

    Huh?

I've had sleep paralysis many times. I couldn't find a good "cure", I would just have to urge myself to breath and then I would be able to move.

If your favorite deity is named Bob... then calling out to Bob would work, but calling Jesus wouldn't...

By the way if you can't yell when in sleep paralysis how does one call out to anyone?

You call out to Jesus in your head and then you can move.

However you were cured, I'm glad you were cured.

It must be an awful feeling.

I wonder why that works though.

Just like the sleep paralysis, it's all in your head. I've had it before also, seems like once I'm "awake" enough to realize what's going on, I can make myself move again.

Occasionally, I'll have the sensation of falling. You ever had that one?

i don't think i've had sleep paralysis. the closest i've had is when my arm falls asleep and i can't move it when i wake up. jesus can't help me with that; i just need to shake it around until blood starts flowing again.

Yes, that's a hypnogogic hallucination and sleep paralysis involves hypnopompic hallucinations.
