Hi guys So I've been taking 'Herbal Nytol' to help me sleep (contains 300mg valerian root, some hops and passionfruit flower), and I'm going to be rolling soon. If I take some the night before a roll (on the following night), is there a chance I could deaden my roll? Heard before that it can have negative effects, as it works like a benzo and benzo's are known to kill rolls. Seen a guy saying that he took some valerian root an hour before his roll and he didn't feel a thing, but would the night before be ok? Any help would be awesome Also hi everyone
i wouldn't say valerian root is like benzos. it's like comparing 0.1g of swag to a gram of the best bubble hash smoked to your face. benzos are powerful tranquilizers that affect global brain functioning. valerian root is a mild relaxant. i would be very surprised if it affected your role even if you dosed them both TOGETHER. spacing them apart by many hours i definitely do not believe you will affect your roll.

No they don't, MDMA affects serotonin primarily, while benzodiazepines affect GABA primarily. Valerian is suspected of affecting GABA, though studies are inconclusive. However GABA is a kind of meta-neurotransmitter, in that it's effect is to modulate, or alter the effects of all other neurotransmitters. That's why benzos can abort a trip/roll, because they increase GABA activity which alters the serotonin-based psychedelic effects, bringing them down. I'm not saying it's not possible to affect your roll by taking valerian; i'm just saying the odds of that happening from dosing valerian the night before is pretty low. That post is the only post I've heard of this happening, and you'll notice he took an "ecstasy pill". The odds are much higher that the pill was simply bunk.
Yeah I was thinking that the pill might be bunk, although he did say all his mates rolled face. Thanks for the help though I appreciate it
