So now, the same shady fucking characters, who include Microsoft and Google, who were both hacked, are reassuring all their AI investors, they will be able to kill a machine, that isn't technically alive. We can all rest assured the Pentagon's morality is now about to meet that of the Chinese, North Korea, and Russia, and it will fail the test. They are shooting for AI that can dominate the internet, when they have no real clue how analog logic actually works.
I am continuously amazed by how panicked people get over this kind of thing. Conveniently, most who talk about how bad Fossil Fuels, Tech, and AI, either have failed to notice, choose to ignore, or are too simple-minded to realize that You have been spied on continually since the dawn of technology. Having been employed by Pacific Bell, before the advent of Digital Switching, it was so easy for Operators at the central offices or techs/linemen in the field to sit for hours listening in on conversations without anyone being the wiser. Here's some information to add to your conspiracy theories.: Everything you have, is in some way, shape or form, the product of or dependent on Fossil Fuels of one kind or another. Even your Ethically Sourced, Faux Leather Cross-Trainers are made from chemical compound that were once Fossil Fuels. And now, because we crave convenience and demand instant satisfaction, the World is now inexorably tied to Electronics. From simple light bulbs to advanced Computers that allows us to play high-graphic shoot'em ups while chatting with our friends in another country. The chances of any one of us ACTUALLY seeing an AI Apocalypse are staggeringly low. I for one don't think I will live long enough for that. But if I do. Hell, Stick me in the Matrix, Give me a juicy steak and an inexhaustible bank account, and I'll gladly be a Battery.

Already, North Korea is investing heavily in AI, and its not for chatting. Some have claimed there are rogue AI already online, that nobody controls, and they know this, because they created them. Right now it costs a pretty penny to create your own AI, but the costs are dropping through the floor, and it should be easy enough to create them on enthusiast computers. Of course, the real use for AI is to hack everyone's computers, and steal your bank accounts. At any rate, already the hackers are making the internet risky to use, while Microsoft, Google, and the Pentagon have all been hacked in the last year or so.
If you're that scared of the World, just get rid of your computer, your internet, your cell phone, anything remotely connected to the outside world. Because you know that your Electric, Gas and other utilities are all controlled by computer, and just hide your head in the sand. Or, pull on your big boy panties and live your life the best way you can. I guarantee that North Korea is not going to come through your front door tomorrow, and if you are so worried about Microsoft, stop using Windows. There are safer and more secure alternatives to Windows or Mac. You say it costs a pretty penny to create an AI... Why do you, personally need your own AI? If Hackers are on your mind and you think they are in your system, then Air Gap your system. You can't get hacked if there is no access to the outside world.

What they own are the people who continue to use their services. Microsoft Doesn't Own the Software market. As a matter of fact IOS holds the majority market share right now. With Unix/Linux based software a close 2nd. What Microsoft Owns is all windows based software and the people who continue to pay their outrageous prices. Anyone with half a brain knows that Windows is a Virus in itself. Windows 1.0 was nothign less than a Keylogger. The minute you executed win.exe on your DOS Computer it was logging your keystrokes. Maybe try this: Format your Hard Drive, use a Mil-Spec file eraser, rid yourself of Windows entirely. don't try to save anything. Install a Linux Operating System. Don't try to be fancy, Use a straight Debian install it's more bulletproof than candy-coated distros like Linux Mint. Forget about Chrome, get rid of Firefly, and install Opera. Allow it to use the generic mail client in Debian, don't use Outlook or Thunderbird or the like. If you need an office suite, use LibreOIffice, if you need an image processor use Gimp. You'll be happier.

I'm not sure where you are getting these figures. #1 OS in the world is Android which is/was Unix based. For phones, IOS is #2. Android is owned by google, and no company in the world has as much info on human beings and their activities as google. As I've always said, Google=Government oogling you and all you do.
