What sort of fulfillment do you get out of MMO's?

 

well just the game wow, its so beutifull ones eyes water when seeing it first time. also the fact that u play with other people is awesome, its like a chatroom but very interactive, ive met loads of ppl both younger and older, and its great having discusions while bored or w/e. also the thrill of instances and raids... u have to expeirence it to know what im talking about. check my wow thread in stoners lounge. last night i was bored, hardly anyone on just getting skills up when all of a sudden few events made hours fly by. dunno just experiencing a virtual war when u cant contribute sucks, so ur motivated to get high lvl and lead ur own army.

fuck i know its a waste of time etc but it is very fun, nothing like runescape where graphics r shit, nothing to do, and just grind for 5years to get rich. that game is an embarassment to mmorpg's

 

Just becuase runescape isn't totally combat based doesn't mean it sucks. The graphics are bad becuase they want to keep it browser based.. Think about it rofl...

 

dude but theres nothing to do on it. making money involves boring fishing or mining for 12h straight. on wow u can lvl like 3 times and make money and get rad gear and make new friends in that period. rs < wow

 

well imo, for a gamer mmorpg's are pretty much the be all end all of video games, ever evolving, changing, adapting games that evolve and grow around your character

 

wow is fun...i think....i find myself playing it all the time but while im doing it the whole time im thinking "this is boring"...i go through stages, its boring for a while, till i get to a new land or whatever and get to explore....when i first got it i thought it was amazing...graphics, interaction with other people, size of the game, actual game idea...all cool...got bored round level 25 though....havnt played in a long time...crap computer cant handle it

 

yea theres boring parts sometimes, just like everywhere < to someone the part u find boring can be fun

 

I can make 9-12 dollars an hour playing runescape, In real cash. I use to play runescape back in 2001. I horded a bunch of rares. Theyre now worth 7000 dollars, in 4 years? Probably 15000. Thats why I like runescape rofl.

 

wow ripping off little kids. u know theres noway to actually get money ? u will get scammed most likely or get banned

 

i remember playing runscape.. it was the first mmo i played.. it was fun.. but i never played it for more than like a week.. then i would find it boring for the simple fact that some other poster pointed out.. all you do is mine.. blacksmith.. fish and cook... and its nothing but repeating this over and over again.. plus it seemed that all the people were just A-holes on that game.. especially when it came to mining.. they'd always run up on your ore and steal it.. i have yet to have this problem in WoW.. people respect the fact that if you get somewhere first.. its yours first

 

^ 10 year olds cant afford 15$ a month. rs is free. i have encountered one 11yr old on wow, we farm or do instances together all the time, he seems to know more about wow than me, and acts mature. most people apart from him on friends list are 17+, some even 25+. i met this phylosophical 21 year old, he and film shrooms got me motivated to get some. really clever guy, u can have deeply intelligent convo's with him. and yeah, when shit gets boring, u can talk to PEOPLE, not lil kids

 

fuck i was grouped with a 14 year old for an hour, the kid was such a dummy kept asking me the same fucking question over and over again until i finally disbanded the group, then he was asking the same questin in general chat

 

Just so all of you know. I played MMO's heavily like 4 years ago, and for a good bit. Before that it was diablo for another 3 years, I know all about them. I just wanted to know what YOU personally got out of them. Not a general statement about em, but it's all good

Oh ya and I can't stand noobs/kids. When I have to type like I'm typing a term paper just to get a goddamn idiot to talk to elfen the orc god, it gets a bit ridiculous.

 

No wonder you don't like runescape you've only played the free version. That's only 25% ofthe game no shit it'd be boring.

I can make around 2-3 mill an hour on runescape. Not cheating or anything you just have to know what todo.

How am I ripping off little kids? if some 14 year-old wants to buy a 'party hat' aka a bunch of pixels for 2000 Us dollars then I have no problem with that.

 

I am curious how many of you guys still play world of warcraft? with cata coming out recently?

I canceled my subscription a few days ago. Should have done it a while back.

I have a few more months time paid, but I haven't even bothered to get to 85, it's just retarded now..... I would sell my account, but all my old prized things like special mounts and shit are easily replaced with newer crap that all looks the same and that you get for free.... I don't think my account's worth much anymore.

*edit* on that note, anyone know a good place to sell a wow/battle.net account for a good profit? Main's got about 100 days /played, but not 85, i think it's in the last few bars of 82. all special tbc mounts, flyers, all flight skills, like 422 achivements, a few thousand gold total on the account, lots of older rare pets, and moar.... a few characters between 40-81....

It hurts to give up my account with all it's shit, but it's not the epic shit it was, now it's just devalued ezmode noob fodder... I have no interest in that.
