Curious if other women do this, on purpose. Like, I'm on the pill and instead of going off for that week to have my period, I just start my new pack so I don't have to deal with it. Any other women do that? Or can anyone tell me the risks of doing so? I figure that it is good to clean out every few months, though, if I'm skipping periods like this.
no way. I hate taking the pill as it is, I feel like it is cleansing to have that placebo week and get a period.
Yes. My "natural" periods are horrendous. I don't like to be in massive pain, feel sick, heavy bleeding, migraines and acne every 24-28 days. On combination pill, I now only have a period once every three months.
You should go get the implanon put into your arm. It's a nifty little hormonal gadget as a safe sex measure. It stopped my monthly entirely. Still get the emotions and cramps, but not the mess. I got it during a time when my stuff wasn't bad it was just really sporadic so my doctor said to try this. It'll either make me bleed non stop or it should stop it all together. My elder sister was on it for some time and it worked for her and a friend of mine too but I know people where it did not work.
I totally get how that wouldn't feel natural, but te part of me that hates getting my period is a little stronger than the part of me that doesn't think it's all that natural. They're always at horrible times, I like not having to go to the bathroom every few hours or spend the money on tampons. Oh gosh, and not to mention always worrying about if I'm leaking, that's always bothersome, I worry no matter what. I could have just changed it, and I'd still worry. I especially worry while I'm waiting for it to come, some weeks it's the two days after I stop and other day it's three, I usually do get that initial discomfort that makes me know it's started though. Irminsul, that sounds interesting! I'll have to look into that, does it prevent pregnancy as well as the pill does? It would suck to be someone that it didn't work for though!
I don't do it although there are times when my period would skip a month. I've been having trouble with my period so I'm gonna see a doctor soon.
Oh yes it does indeed. From memory the percentages were as good if not better than the pill and this was several years ago. I'm gay so I don't need it for that lol. Just the downside is, and it happened to my sister, is all the hormones can make you a touch loopy in the head a bit emotionally unstable. I get the emotionally unstableness but it's not much, like I said you still go through all the moods etc. but for my sister, well in her mind once she got off it, she said she felt a huge difference in her emotional state. She realized she hated the guy she was dating, hated her new job etc. Dropped them both and go on with life. Now, I'm not sure if that was really the hormones or she could have just been having one of her spats I'm not sure.
I think if you already like him now then it won't change. Hehe. From memory she met this guy while she was already on it.
Well, I would certainly hope that after three years, my feelings are pretty solid, hahah. I've gotta look into this thing!
Just to clarify, I didn't mean to sound condescending to those girls who do skip periods. It's just how I personally feel about my body. If you do it then yay, fewer periods sounds awesome.
Of course! You are very free to express how you feel, it doesn't offend me or anything in any way. I can even see why some migjht find it gross, your body isn't being cleaned out like it should, so yeah. Not natural, I totally understand!
