That is the exact same as saying "I'm not a racist, I just hate niggers." And it's pacifist. You obviously don't know shit about either buddhism or martial arts. All the martial arts in the world won't make you tough if you're a pussy. Besides, you live in America; go into the local Wal-Mart and buy a gun.
how about cops? most skinhead groups are already under gang watch... unless this is a total BS thread by a troll. If so, I hope you do run into trouble because you make it harder for everyone of us who is out there dealing with all kinds of people with our long hair and pacifist attitudes. THe wording makes me think this is some sort of BS trolling.
move to montreal.. you wont be the only long-haired person around lol.. and skinheads.. shit . I never saw one here!... I see a lot of hippies though.. Montreal is great
well, it is a fucking problem here in sweden, I know they are bored and need some action and adrenaline and they are a bit retarded for sure. Don't play the same game as they do. It's like this: if you 've got an aggressve vibe w someone, aggressive will come to you, i know it sounds weird but this is a true story. I did acid once with a guy that was cheating on me (and he really despised me, but pretended to "love" me). when doing acid, the vibe was horribble, i was almost freaking out and having anxiety attacks and the guy w me was really hating me for not being able to enjoy the trip. What happens? 2 huge skinheads appears from a street corner and are about to kick our ass, their eyes are blank and empty and scary, and then i start to cry, in tears and they just say to get the hell out of their sight... (and this was for real, not only some effect imagination by the acid) Bad vibe attracts bad vibe. I know, it's not an excuse, skinheads shouldn't be allowed bla bla.... but beleive me: they FEED on aggression and other negative vibes. It's not about power, guns, fighting. It's about NOT sharing the same vibe.
Nice attempt at trolling. Sorry mate, I don't feed trolls. Try somone else. BTW, I don't live in America.
Just correcting your notions of pacifism (which by definition means not fighting back when attacked), buddhism, and martial arts, as well as your grammar. And I could care less where you live; the last part was satirical.
I've haven't had any shit for my hair yet. Hopefully I'll never see a day like that. Besides, it doesn't seem so common in the states. I've had years of martial arts training, and when I know I'm going to be walking around town a lot, I always bring a blade just incase the improbable happens.
Pacifism does not mean not fighting back when attacked. Pacifism means opposition to war. I am opposed to war. I am opposed to all forms of aggression. Self defense is not aggression. Being attacked is aggression. Defending yourself against an attacker is an attempt to maintain peace. It is an act against agression. If you know anything about either martial arts or buddhism you will know this already. Consider the following two hypothetical scenarios. Scenario A: You are walking down the street minding your own business. A drunk and pissed off person is walking the other way. In his drunken state he thinks it would be appeasing to him if he kicks the shit out of you so he simply walks up to you and punches you in the face. You don't make any attempt to defend yourself and get punched to the floor where you are subsequently kicked half to death. You get concussion, broken ribs, a fractured skull, a broken nose, broken jaw, severe bruising, etc. etc. Scenario B: Same situation as A. The drunk person approaches you. You can tell he is pissed off. You talk to him and try and calm him down, you do your best to get him into a calm and peaceful state of mind. He's having none of it so he throws a punch at you. You block his punch and simultaneously slam your elbow into the side of his jaw. He falls to the ground unconcious and you are unharmed. You walk away. Q: Which scenario is the least violent?
Actually, there are two definitions: 1. the belief that all international disputes can be settled by arbitration 2. the doctrine that all violence in unjustifiable Considering we we're not talking about international relations, the latter would seem to apply, neh? Thanks for your such an extremely intellectual definition of self-defense. I see it clearer now than I ever did before. i know that one the fundamental tenets of buddhism is to cause no harm to any living creature. and i know that all martial arts didn't descend from sects of buddhism. Are you fucking dense? I'm not arguing for pacifism, I'm arguing that you are by definition not a pacifist.
Am I fucking dense? A very good question. I don't know the answer, but I suppose that if I was fucking dense I wouldn't realise it so therefore wouldn't be able to argue against the suggestion. Are you fucking dense? I don't think so either. Provocative; yes. Dense; no. How about us having an intelligent exchange of views where we refrain from swearing at each other and treat each other as fellow sentient beings? I'm willing to do this, are you?
being polite is overrated. but begging politeness over an anonymous internet is really, really, overrated.
Is is possible to be a hippy and have short hair? The steriotypical image of a hippy is a person with long hair. I have a shaved head, and yet I am a peaceful person, spiritual. I have had problems in the past with people trying to start trouble with me because of my apperance. I'm not exactly short and skinny, and sometimes I feel like I am being punished for the way I choose to decorate myself. Discrimination comes in many forms, but it takes a keen eye to seperate the outer person from the inner soul. At least thats what I think anyway.
