Lol the touch wood and knock on wood discussion. Two sayings, both would have worked fine the way mama used it.

Mama glad you are doing ok. Hope it heals quickly. Remember with a bad sprain to keep that ankle elevated! Also did they give you enough hydros to at least get you through a couple days? I would have asked for a hydromorphone take home IV drip ;) just kidding of course.

Its always odd when I hear the term norco. We never used it in my circle to describe hydrocodone. I kinda regret not going to the ER for my back and neck from my recent car accident. It is still really fucking painful almost two weeks later!

Also pork, why do you prefer hydro over oxycodone (I meant percs)? I was under impression that percs are something like 1.5 stronger than hydro....that actually may be wrong but I'll leave it on the off chance.

Damn, sorry Ma. Keep rolling it once it doesn't feel like someone is stabbing a knife in it, keep some strength back in it.

    And ask for these:

On second thought, don't. Fight the pain. The fucked up thing about me is if I'm actually hurt I don't want drugs. The pain helps me gauge how hurt I still am.

Thanks :). It's elevated on some pillows now. I have enough meds to get through two days, which should be plenty.

I worked in hospital pharmacy for 7 years, and we were required to use brand name for all hydros to prevent mistakes. That really sucks that you're still hurting! I hope you feel better soon. :)

Thanks dev. I'm hoping to be back on skates next week... I took 1 1/2 Norco in the ER, but Werth we'll see how often I take the rest of them. Even though it sounds terrible, I'd rather take them for recreation than the pain lol.

Be careful, a sprained ankle will be weak - but I'm sure you already know that from other injuries doing derby. Hope you are well soon.

Good to hear it is just a sprain. Broken bones in your feet are a pain forever.

i think norco is the name brand for the 10 mg hydrocodone. vicodin for the smaller doses of hydro.

i like hydrocodone better than oxycodone (percocet), because the percocet makes me nauseous, even from one pill. also, hydro seems to work better for pain. i rarely have a reason to take pain killers though.

percocet seemed to just get me high, and maybe forget about the pain. hydro seems to get rid of the pain, and get me a little high too, without the nausea.

now if i had oxy without the APAP, that might be a different story.

i take painkillers a couple times a year, if that, so i'm pretty opiate naive.

    Agreed!
This is actually my first injury besides bumps and bruises.

It's ok, he would dare say that to a derby girl's face. :p
    Thank you!
    Lol! Thanks ;).
Ugh I can't even imagine. I'm extremely pain tolerant, but I woke up around 3am in HORRIBLE aching pain. I can't even imagine what a broken ankle would feel like.

a sprain is basically stretching a ligament too far. when i tore a ligament, it was much more painful than either time i broke bones in my hand.

so maybe a really bad sprain can hurt worse than a broken bone is what i mean.
