Here in the U.S.A. there are many jurisdictions that are now only using the emergency lights instead of the sirens after a certain hour [IMG]

I personally would rather several people die than my having to listen to a loud noise for a few seconds:mad:

I think everybody should just fucking die sometimes, give the planet a break for a while, readjust, you know.

I just went for a cycle in the country, very nice it was as well. And on my way to the monument an ambulance passed me, at high speed, with lights flashing, but guess what? NO SIREN! Because there was no need for one!

So there was me thinking what a miserable old fuddy duddy I was, pissing and moaning all the time for reason...

But anyway, on the way back, sometime later in the day I passes a police car going the other way. Again full speed, lights flashing, obviously on the tail of a pressing matter. There were no other traffic in sight, it was a quiet back road, not a B road, an A road, but there was NO traffic whatsoever apart from me cycling the other was on my bike. The question is, did he have his siren on.....?

And the answer is, yes he did!

Didn't startle or annoy me because I was too busy listening to a bit of zep on my iPod, but the point is.... he had his siren on for no reason.

AND it's the same fucking siren I keep hearing all throughout the day round here!

So it isn't ambulances who are doing this, its the fucking bizzies!

    Arrogant bastards.

McLeod is right, I often notice ambulances with flashing lights but without sirens on empty roads, but rarely police cars with flashing lights but no siren...
