are you conceding the system is useless then? so why not get rid of it? i believe that's the point being made by all the people questioning rep points.

 

no the rep system stimulates posting. people arguing about it and people trying to collect it. after your next response, try clicking on one of the sponsers and earning Skip a few bucks. he gets em wether you buy a poster or not.

btw, that's true... every now and then i click on a sponsor on a site i like, to make sure it stays in upkeep and so on.

no, the point in many of the people "questioning" the rep. system is to bitch and complain and start drama... who cares? i mean, i could care less if the rep. system existed or not.

 

From what I've seen, it's the ones who complain about rep who seem to be elitist... 'Oh I'm so much better and more intellectual and anti-clique! ' And the people who complain about people giving back and forth to each other, and yet claim to not care about it... Well you must care, other wise why complain about it?

 

I like one thing about it, and that is the wonderful compliments. The actual points mean zip to me, although they do have some small value in that they reflect stability and longevity as a member.

I got a bad rep yesterday, and I'm not pissing myself over it. I'm sort of known around here I think for the most part, but I don't have alot of close friends. I don't get most of the rep I do recieve from the same group of people. I don't know anyone here by their first names (except trish, kayla, and syra). I don't think I'm part of any "clique" here, but then again I don't think that many people are. It's not like there are a group of people here that push everyone else out of their threads.

I would disable my rep right now, but I don't wanna feed the ego's of the bitches here and allow them to think they've somehow conquered me.

It doesn't matter to these assholes that MOST of the people with the highest rep also happen to be the nicest people on these boards.

I DO like it when I recieve nice rep, but I also liked it when everything I got was neutral. It's great to read when someone has something nice or funny to say to you.

As far as this whole system being fucked up, Skip repped me at least a couple of times, and he's the one who runs this place. So I guess that would mean he's in on the whole rep conspiracy clique thing we have going on.

I guess there are always going to be certain people here that have to find SOMETHING to bitch and whine about, and if it wasn't rep points it would be something else.

 

I say, people who whine about it, should henceforth be called the anti-rep CLIQUE!

why is it that some rep points are worth more then others? Early this morning I got one worth 5 points and about 1/2 hour later I got one worth 8 points. When you leave a rep point do ya get to decide how many points to leave someone? Like I said before I have no idea how all this "rep" stuff works.

 

If you think it sucks, disable yours and shut up about it. Personally I think it's fun. I don't lose sleep over it, but I like sending people good rep when they've said something that I thought was clever, or funny, or what have you. And neg rep, well I've only sent that once. It's a good way to at least let people know you're paying attention to their posts. But if you're going to stand around, and wring your hands and cry like a little bitch, then turns yours off and shut the fuck up. I don't mean to be so harsh but for gods sakes every time I come to Random there's a new thread about someone who hates rep. My heart bleeds for you, now shut up.

 

It depends on how much rep the person who sent it has... Rep from people withg higher rep counts more... I think it's something like 1 point per 50 (or maybe 100 I'm not sure... ) points of the sender...
