RIP G. I know this was a few months ago but it was pretty close to where I live and worked with the department. On his last day of probation, killed for doing his job. How come none of you have posted about fallen police officers on here? 'He was twice the man that I was': Mourners honor slain Pomona Police Officer Greggory Casillas
You’re right we should but were often too busy posting messages about innocent black men being gunned down by white police officers. Such was the case with 17-year old Antwon Rose who was shot by an East Pittsburgh police officer, who was recently charged with Criminal homicide.
Dont troll dude. That kid was far from innocent. Shot in the back was stupid on the officer. However that so called innocent kid was a passenger in a drive by shooting, also had a 9mm clip in his pocket.. The weapon under the seat was used in the North Braddock attack. Sorry your hate for law enforcement and race bating tendencies get the best of you.
I don't know. Why isn't anyone posting about fallen firefighters, soldiers, or marines? What of regular citizens? How about the 10 year old kid from Lancaster killed by his own mother for coming out to her as gay? Maybe we're using Hip Forums to escape the cess pool that is day-to-day life in the real world
Telling the truth you don’t want to hear is not trolling. Btw: the officer admitted he didn’t see a gun in the kids hand, that’s called murder in the first degree
There was that Long Beach Fire Chief who was killed not to long ago by that guy who basically had first responders come to his housing unit so he could shoot them. Sad.
My friend, Jill, whose father was a chief of police when he was alive talks about all of this all of the time....and I hear in every detail for hours about every policeman that gets killed everywhere......Her father did not die in action or anything like that. He died naturally from heart failure......but she loves policemen....She goes out of her way to get pulled over for speeding....I think, sometimes...so she can flirt with them...LOL No, but of course, the news is sad.... about anyone who gets killed.
I told her to go get a job in the police department at a desk or something...so she can be around policemen all of the time.
who cares what their job was people die every day good people and shitty people we are all going to die
Our hometown DJ Mike Steele lost his battle with cancer on July 3rd. Posted in the stoners lounge. It’s not an uncommon practice for folks in broadcasting, particularly radio deejays, to take an on-air alias that may be a little catchier or easier to remember than their birth name. So when Mike Vrable was beginning a career in radio in Western Pennsylvania in the 1990s his choice for a new handle was easy: “Mike Steele” -- as in Pittsburgh steel and the Pittsburgh Steelers. But it was an equally appropriate moniker for what he meant to his longtime employer, WDVE. Mr. Vrable died Tuesday at age 51 after a bout with bowel cancer. “He was solid. He was rock solid,” WDVE Morning Show co-host Val Porter said of the colleague she’s known since they were both students at Clarion University. “He was a consummate professional who was always there and who could do anything.” And he did just about everything at some time or another at WDVE and their sister stations. He was an on-air talent for WDVE, a local producer for the Penguins games on The X, and produced the local segment of the Steelers Radio Network, and he also did fill in work on 3WS. “He was like the ultimate utility man,” longtime WDVE Electric Lunch host Michele Michaels said. “Anything that needed done, he could do it, so they asked him and he never disappointed.” “When he worked with me, a lot of times he’d run board. He would be so complete and thorough in his work. He would be feeding me info so if I played a song by a band, he’d tell me when that band was gonna be in concert, or trivia or facts about the band members. He saved my butt many times and made me sound smarter many times. He just did a million things at once. He also had some engineering acumen, so if things were crashing and burning around you, he could patch things together.” An avid photographer and Boy Scout, the Beaver Falls native started his career locally at the former 106.7 FM station, “The Force,” in Beaver Falls and was part of the transition when that station became 105.9 The X in 1995. He went over to WDVE and in 2003 he moved to Austin, Texas, for eight years to work for Rock Station KLBJ, before returning to WDVE in 2011. “He loved all music. He was a musicologist. He loved it so much. He cared so deeply about the music and our listeners,” Ms. Michaels said. He was a particularly huge fan of the southern jam rock band Govt. Mule — a band he’d seen 51 times all across the country. “The only time he ever asked for days off or time off was to follow Govt. Mule,” WDVE program director John Moschitta said of the radio jack-of-all-trades. “Mike fit in to every part of the ‘DVE audience. He really loved being a part of all things ‘DVE and he really embraced the opportunity to be a part of what we stood for,” WDVE Morning Show host Randy Baumann said. “He was an important part of the machine. He could do anything. He was really versatile, and that’s a rare ability.” Ms. Michaels summed up Mr. Steele’s presence as irreplaceable. “He’d help you however he could,” she said “There is only one Mike Steele.” He is survived by his parents, Robert and Judith, and sisters Michelle and Mindy, all of Columbiana, Ohio. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
People that stop other people from dying or help other people live longer are just contributing to global warming and don't care about the environment Everytime someone gets shot, there is then space for three more puppies
