    Hey Brother Logan,

Some things just never change. The folks here have been just that way toward me so far. Sure, you get the one that is a bit upset about anything in life and no matter what you do it is wrong, but you are right about the people here. I really like it here, and there is a really good Mexican & Chinese place here as well so I am all set!

    heating a vehicle:

pull down the roofline and there's probably just sheet-steel, the underside of the top.
Get that 3/8's inch recycled high-R value insulation they have at the RV centers (or maybe online) along with the high-adhesive spray.
Line the metal roof then put the roofliner back in.

    It traps the heat.

Get a Blackcat from coleman. Get an office trashbin and flip it upside down. Cut the bottom of the bin to fit the blackcat through. I can't remember exactly, however if you look at the blackcat you'll figure it out. Then get a hose to adapt a standard propane tank to the blackcat's fitting, and a mini-refillable propane tank (only takes about a gallon of propane).
The refillable propane tank fits underneath the trashbin.

Now you've got a freestanding heater that takes a minimum amount of floorspace and has no flame, and it's good for a week to two weeks worth of heating. Some blackcat models have a starter, otherwise you can get a grill-starter and add it in yourself.

Looked for images of the blackcat... Apparently the model has been updated, so you may have to make some small mods to the setup to make it work. The one I had was the first model, and it pointed straight-up.

Here is what I had and took back to Home Depot. It was really cute looking, but just was not "Cutting The Mustard" as they say.

Thanks Bro Kenny, I appreciate that. It is an oldie but a goodie! I really did get lucky when I found this one. Ya know, it would look really good in that trailer you want to put behind that diesel van!

I sure hope you are getting some good news there from the Ford dealer. Have you tried that Bose Surround Sound yet to see if it is working? You will enjoy that for sure. I have the same set up in my home, and it really sounds awesome!

Take care, and as always, it was a pleasure chatting with you the other day. Hey, did ya make some Chili yet? I made more Buffalo Chicken yesterday. I will do the Shake N Bake today, as that is my favorite. Also works great on Pork Chops!

it depends greatly on the level of insulation and the amount of space. And the outdoor temp. So u could be hovering over the heater to get warm; n for baking it'd probably require one or two more. How did you end up heating? A van is not well-insulated from the factory, eh? More like a toaster with wheels.

    Hey fire_in_the_soul,

You are so right about the "Toaster On Wheels" analogy. That is the reason I bought my original 1977 Dodge Extended Van to convert so I could insulate it really good before putting all the inside goodies in the van. However, when I found this 1987 Camper Van already constructed, I just could not pass it up. Plus, it had a high top and I can actually stand up in it. However, it is pretty much like a toaster just like you mentioned.

Right now, I have no electricity, no heat and no lights. I am just freezing it out at the moment, and I am using a hand held rechargeable LED light. I don't have a picture of it by itself, but you can see it below in the pic.

I was out to stanton last year and fell in love with the countryside out there. I was planning on being out there again this feb but things kinda went south around here for me and I have had to redo somethings but I am planning on heading out to colo in late may and then as the weather turns i will be heading that way to stay alittle warmer. If I can survive -24 below zero wind chill here, it should be absolutly balmy there lol
Went through Precott on the way to stanton and want to go back and take some time checking the town out. Really looked like a cool place. anyway, rambling here. talk later.

If people would just stop and take the time to evaluate a stressful situation before reacting unfavorably, they will find out that there is usually a better, healthier way to react. Stress can be greatly reduced if you are able to see other possibilities or sides of a situation, such as finding a humorous angle. Studies have proven that having a sense of humor and trying to find the good aspects of life rather than focusing on the negative will not only reduce stress, but make us happier and healthier in general.

Geez, is it past April 15th already? Geez, I have been pretty busy with this job, and working on the TSN sites that I have not got much blogging done.

Speaking of blogging and posting, I want to say Thanks to the moderator. I did not know, and I am guessing that most other people do not know that we are not suppose to be linking to outside web sites.

The moderator was very nice about it, and knew that I was not trying to be a pain. I am guessing that most people here do not know this either, as I had been here for just about a year before the moderator found my thread and let me know. I am guessing that most people don't know this rule, or they would have said something to me way before now.

So, to keep things easy for the moderator, lets not be putting in any links to outside sites. You will notice that my thread has been drastically reduced in the number of pages, because I was linking to my site, instead of putting the same article here. I was just trying to save time, not knowing that I was doing something against the "Hip Forums" policy.

So, for the new readers, since there is no links to my Blog, you can find it by looking at my profile here at the Hip Forums. The name of my blog is titled: "Simple Stress Free Lifestyle". You can google it, or just add the dot com and off ya go.

So, thanks again moderator for allowing me to stay, and I hope this post will help make your job easier as well. We do appreciate every thing that you do behind the scenes. I guess we could call you the "Wizard Behind The Curtain".

For all of you who follow my thread and blog, I do appreciate you reading and participating. I do hope that I can bring you all more good information that you find useful in your current or soon to be Simple Stress Free Lifestyle.

Thanks, but you are way to late on that advice. However, perhaps our single crowd will keep that advice of yours in mind!

Lets get to some really good eats that you can fix anywhere, even while you are driving down the road. This of course is going to be with my Handy Dandy Cute Little 12 Volt cooker that runs off the cigarette lighter in your vehicle.

First, you need to have one of these handy dandy little critters!

Now, for some extra flavor, get ya some "Shak-N-Bake". Sometimes I add a splash of "Buffalo Wing" spice for a kick of flavor.

I normally don't "Shake" it in a bag, I just pour it on something really yummy. Like in this case, a huge hunk of "Tenderloin".

Before I put the Tenderloin, or what ever I am cooking, I put aluminum foil in my cooker for easy clean up.

Now lets add on the "Shake-N-Bake" goodies!

That is looking so good, lets get the lid closed and get it cooking! 50 minutes later, here is the results!

Can you smell it yet? Lets cut into it an see what we find.

This sure would have been better with some taters, veggies or something. I cooked this in the van as I was headed to Phoenix. Yeah, not my van, but the shuttle van that I drive as my job. I have not had anyone say anything yet, but with the seal on the cooker, the good smell normally just stays pretty close to where it is being cooked!

I will bring you some more of my favorite recipes on my next post, as I have to get ready to go drive that shuttle van again. It is an 12 hour day for me today.

Hope you all enjoy this "Super EZ" menu item. Believe me, it taste just as good as it looks.

Ah, Stanton! Been there once before. Nice community. Found just a trace of gold in Antelope Creek, but some decent color in Weaver.

Too bad Roadrunners and LDMA have the claims hogged up. Too expensive to become a member and get access. I was there as a guest in 2005 (I met Miss Ellie, she's a sweetheart!).

DAMN YOU! Making me hungry, even though I already had dinner....! LOL!
