So last week was a little overcast and I found it beneficial to wear my spectacles for about 3 straight days. Ever since though it's like I can't do without wearing them. My eyes feel tired, blurry and unfocused. I tried to look into whether or not glasses do I fact worsen your eyesight over time because many people complain on the forums I browsed that they do but apparently they don't at all. What are your thoughts though?
Glasses definitely worsen your eyesight. I started wearing glasses when I was relatively young, but since getting glasses my eyesight has deteriorated rapidly. Some people are saying that glasses are not the answer to eyesight correction, and that there are certain eye exercises one can do to improve their eyesight naturally. I am afraid glasses and contacts have ruined mine, since I cannot see shit without them. In the past I wanted to get Lasik surgery, but I feel it's not worth the risks involved.
I agree, once you start wearing themthere'sno going back unless they can fix with surgery.I had a friend yrs. ago that was almost blind and had lasik surgery and got her sight back and it changed her life.
I don't know much about this since I've never word glasses. I do have a few friends and family members who reported spontaneous recovery of vision, though. An older relative and a peer of mine both reported that they were suddenly able to see without glasses, for no particular reason. So, who knows.
i had 20/20 vision when i was in high school. but during the later years of college, i started having a problem seeing things far away. i got glasses (a weak prescription) and i only wear them when watching tv, driving, watching presentations and things like that. my thought was that by not wearing them all the time, i wouldn't let my eyes get weaker and weaker by relying on the glasses. i also notice that on any particular day, i can see pretty decent. but if i put my glasses on for an hour or so, then remove them...i can't see very well. not that this proves anything..
Could that be attributed to the contrast between the clear vision provided by your glasses and your actual vision without them? Like if I were to look through binoculars and then without them, my own eyesight would seem pretty crappy.
Well I have undergone two corneal transplants and one refractive laser eye surgery. My vision since first graft 5 years ago has been great up until around now I guess, my surgeon had always told me that the grafts and LASIK were never going to correct my vision, they would just enable me to have corrected vision with prescriptions. Well in my left eye that time has been coming and last week I needed the correction. I'm crossing fingers that when the stitches come out of my right eye the astigmatism will fade and be the opposite of my left eye. I have done some eye exercises but they aren't helping, just gives me headaches.
I have to wear glasses now after my surgery too. There was a point where I could wear the glasses and get stoned and my eyes would really focus hard and hurt when wearing the glasses and I'd take them off and my vision was stout. But that doesn't happen anymore haha. I really want to try soft contact lenses but my doctor doesn't want that to happen because my tissues after surgery are very weak.
Given that you have had issues with your eyes and corrective surgery, it is probably wise to see someone if you are having any visual changes. Better to have it checked than to possibly have damage done.
=] Well my surgeons say all is well I was given a prescription over a year ago now I've just never worn them but I kinda know what the warning bells are like to go see them. =] I think like she told me "the fun period is over" when she knew I was not seeing well and she also said the last time I saw her I probably needed an updated script but I hadn't even been using the current one.
Wow, that's alot of stuff to go through with your eyes! I agree, those exercises gave me headaches too.
