Thanks for letting us know what you've found out Penny ... in hindsight if I had known this wasn't just silverhippy playing a joke I should never have made it public in the way I did. I feel sorry for silverhippy to be so publicly exposed in such a way, and I apologise for causing any offence to anyone and for the way the affair turned into a Jerry Springer show, which was the last thing we wanted.

The only reason this happened in the way it did was because silverhippy is such a well known and well liked member of the uk forum community, known for his subversive sense of humour. We thought this was simply an example of that, but it turns out he has some identity issues, and for that he does not deserve to be ridiculed.

I think the less said about it the better, and it's now time to move on. There's no rule that people have to be honest on the internet and people can be whoever they like, but at the same time this serves as a good reminder not to take things at face value and to be aware that people often aren't always what they say they are.

Silverhippie is an ok fella, hes always been a good freind to me here, in spite of differences of political nature...
I doubt that he could make up being a veteran, he grew up post wwii-korea hes now just a man still trying to figure it all out, no matter how confusing it seems so to you.. Give him a break..

 

im not so much concerned with that bit, what Silverhippy does in his private life, is up to him, and his choice, as long as there is 2 concenting adults involved.
but to make a new account, passing himself of as someone completeley diffrent, to satisfie whatever it is that needs feeding, is wrong. i cant understand why ppl cant see that.
for example there is lots of young sometimes gullible, (because of bad experiences) bi or gay girls on line, that just want love, and be loved. and they dont need someone like that taking advantage of them.

some of the more recent posts made me feel bad for being so harsh, I mean, I've done some things I'm not proud of too, it looks like silver is being relativley harmless, compared to people who hurt people in real life because of their own problems, I can't hold having online persona's against him, but honesty about them would be nice.

Wow I'm really suprized to see this is still an issue. Some of you guys act like the internet is filled with all honest pillars of society who would never tell a lie Like someone else said, the web is filled with people pretending to be something other than themselves, get over it. Silver/Sydney make decent contributions to the forums and should not be persecuted for being the same person. If someone is upset about such a mild deception from someone they will probably never meet in real life than they are setting themselves up for a lot of disappointment.

this was more than just a split-personality thang... he tried to get more info from me, (juicy details of incest in my own family history) saying how he and his sister had had a sexual relationship, that she was really fucked up... that he was damaged by it etc etc... it's one thing to have a split personality, quite another to feign for deceiptful reasons!... i want to thank Patti and Penny for their info and clearing it up...
