Hope this makes sense. Thinking of getting some easy care shrubs to plant in equal spaces along the side of my driveway. Shrubs that have a flower would be ideal - any suggestions?
Partial sun in the area and I live in New Zealand so pretty temperate cool climate. Not too far south so no snow in the winter.

    Rose of Sharon..

Comes in most colors and can be shaped anyway you want it... Should grow just about anywhere.

Plant native plants if you can. Should be able find good suggestions by googling. Many benefits like lower amount of upkeep, provide food for local wildlife, and won't disrupt the natural ecosystem if it spreads

This is true, but I just don't like New Zealand natives. :confounded: There is little colour variety, and the bulk of them I find very unattractive.

I like azaleas. But I have no idea how they would do in your climate. They do really well here; I'm in a subtropical humid climate

I love them too! And they do grow here, my favourite thing about them is they do well in the shade. We had a very sad one struggling under a huge rhododendron when we moved to this new place. We moved it and it's got a whole new lease of life!
I'm thinking some azaleas and Rose of Sharon would do very well. :D

I love Azaleas. I have two in my garden and they really thrive up here in the acidic soil of the northeast, along with rhododendrons, and mountain laurel

We have a beautiful pink rhododendron. The other great thing about azaleas and rhododendrons is how much they like shade. :)

My Azaleas do very well in full sunshine, they’re planted on the south facing side of the fence.

The rhododendrons are located on the northeast facing side of the house so they only receive partial sun but still do very well.
