Chill dude, we were having a chat between us... Im in no way an elitist, I listen to pretty much everything from jazz to ambient to punk rock to hip hop to minimal, wonky techno, psychedelic trance, folk, synth pop, blues, classical, dub, reggae, klezmer, prog/tech-house, electro, breakcore, noise bands, south american folk, west african music, art rock, downtempo, post punk and lots of other stuff, that's just the stack of CDs on the desk in front of me. Music is a big part of my life, I spend most of my spare income on music, I work in the music business and work with artists from all kinds of genres and small bands, big bands, electronic, non-electronic, foreign, local and can appreciate a lot of styles. It's not elitist to know the difference between two types of music that may sound similar to the untrained ear, it's knowledgeable. :cheers2:
It's not your cup of tea... So what? No-one asked you to like them or cares whether you do or not... Just saying if you must bash them then have some knowledge of what you're bashing and not go calling it techno, a genre they have very little, if anything, to do with.
Whatever dude, techno has thousands of subgenres split off from what one might call 'pure' techno. Shpongle don't really fit into any of those subgenres. Ergo, Shpongle isn't techno. I do know what I'm talking about here...
