Its natural to wash. Any animals i can think of wash in some way. But i don't think you should wash everyday especially with loads of nasty cosmetics.
Eh I gotta have a shower ATLEAST once a day... whoa lol. I usually take two though, when i get home from work and when i wake up. I love showering... its so relaxing... I spend half an hour to an hour each time i shower in their too just standing under the water lol
yeee... i also thouight the same thing as newo... but well.. na i dont like deodrants either.. i didnt use them atall for quite a while ..just washing was fine and i didnt smell bad, i prefer the natural scent of a person..rather than of chemicals.. Until i strangly developed a 'male armpit' ... just the 1 armpit that had a male bo. smell, the other was fine... but i would wash and then even if i wasnt wearing any clothes 10 minutes later n it was back..lol .. myb blocked follicals or something.. cudnt understand it...hahah.. seems ok now!!! ive never been sooo long without washing -c'ept for when me n a boyf were camping out on a beach4 a while.. but we were washin in the sea.. soo.. actually tho .. a friend never or hardly ever used to wash.. but he would smell so bad sometimes that im sure his smell would vapourise out n cling to me.. so i wud b thinking that this smell was me!! wasnt too nice..hmm ... also heard of a tramp guy who was taken into hospital.. while he was there they gave him a bath.. and he died of hypothermia .. poor guy.. the layers of dirt on his skin over the years mustv been keeping him warm ... i suppose after not washing for a while you just get used to it ... does the the body wash itself as hair does ???

i like to answer questions on hippieforums without using any punctuation my teachers never taught it to me or maybe they did but i sure as hell wasnt paying attention in school which maybe is why i dont like to shower because i never learned about hygeine and maybe even diseases that you can get from being filthy but mostly i can't imagine why you think that deodorant smells bad but weeks worth of body odor does not so maybe you can clue us in -Jeffrey
hmm...i see two instances of punctuation in there btw, its all good, i dont like capital letters i like baths better than showers, their more relaxing and saves water. but its harder to find time. but showers are fun too. esp when ur w/ someone else but of course, that would be more fun if we had two shower heads...someday when we have a house instead of an apartment, we'll get two shower heads installed...b/c this problem comes up of one person using the water and the other person being cold b/c their wet and not in the presure of the water...if that makes any sense? anyways, baths are fun w/ two ppl too...but we'll also have to get a bigger bath tub when we get a house, the one in the apartment is smaller than normal.
As would I. I've been around women with B.O and I can't imagine how they would attract a guy, but a woman who's beautiful or fun and has great hygiene and smells good is a turn on, because her self-maintenance shows me she's responsible and cares about herself. If people choose not to take showers, than that's their lifestyle and I respect them for it. But for me, I couldn't possibly imagine going more than two days without a shower. When I was hospitalized for surgery, I was in bed for a week without a shower and when I got out, my arm had developed fungus in the corners of my armpits and I developed a really painful bad rash, since then if I go more than two days without showering, it develops. But I love showers either way. Ten minutes under a hot shower and it's refreshing and it really mellows me out.
I shower every day because I'm employed and it would pretty much be extremely frowned upon to show up stinking noticeably. We have an older guy at work who, for a while, kept coming in smelling horribly of body odor. People complained, and I was one of them. It was awful, and no one could stand to sit at a desk next to him. I also shower daily because I too use hair gel -- I have long curly hair that gets frizzy if I don't gel it. The gel I use does not flake or get gross (try Suave Sculpting Gel - it's alcohol free and not sticky) so it's not a problem the next day. What IS a problem is the fact that my hair knots up like mad after a day and a half. When I finally do get to shower, it's impossible to get the knots out without tearing a lot of my hair with it. people are verry different in there hygene. some people just do not have to take a shower, i used to know an old man who collected stuff from a dump and had it in a barn, he slept in there with it and never took showers or baths. he didnt live near water so i doubt he swam or ne thing either. but i never smelled a bad smell on him. and me i go and play basketball hours on end in the sun and i think i stink but the people around me dont think so. i make comments about how bad i think i smell and they say they cant smell me. but i usually take 1-3 showers a day any way.
Hmm...sometimes I'll go 4ish days without a shower just becuase I'm lazy but I DO feel awfully dirty that whole time. Usually it's a daily or every other day thing...the summer is my dirty time of the year though. I don't have to worry about submitting people to my dirtiness then. Hehe.

i agree with you i love to be clean, i think it is soooooo nasty that people will walk around like that, that shows people out here dont care bout there selfs , and they should!!!!!!!! i love the feel of water and been clean and smelling good
I shower once a day, sometimes twice i enjoy it, its like a hot massage. If i'm camping i can go without, but then i normally jump in the lake.
I shower once a day and I feel totally disgusting if I don't. People HAVE to shower, like someone else said, all animals have forms of cleaning themselves. Humans are no different.
I take a shower almost every day, I might skip a day if I'm just hanging out. But the idea of taking a shower every day is pretty recent, only in the last century or so, and only in the industrialized countries. That's why perfume and cologne was invented, to cover up body odor. Don't be too judgmental of people who miss a day of showering now and then.
