And just for the record, there are many reasons to travel to other countries that have nothing to do with self-sufficiency. Some of us like to learn about other cultures and experience new things.

no religious text should be banned , i mean hell hitler burned the torah , in my heart of hearts , if u are going to bann the koran then ban the bible and torah , etc , then u will see not only the american hated by the midle east but also by those other religons .
tho the torah may speak of kill the inpure ones , every one has the right to freedom of speach and of religon , i know this for the fact that the local Cummuinty Service Bord were i go to meet w my theripst is at says clealy they do not discrimate aginst any religon or race or age or gender etc.

in point unless u are some underground neo nazi , even then u have the right to belive what u want and say what u want , just let ppl have there religous text
may who ever u belive in open ur heart
    blessings

I understand Arabic ok at best, I have a rather limited vocabulary in the language. Arabs don't particularly like my kind and do not bother teaching us their language.

I do not believe in listing sources pointlessly on the internetz, and I have no idea which translation I've read. I do not see how that is relevant.

All in all, actions speak louder than words...

So... do you want to lick my balls while jacking me off?

I'm asking you this in with the uttermost sincerity.

Welp, thats it. The next day I have off I'm going to stop by Barnes and Noble, sit down with a hot coffee, and read the damn thing with as open a mind as possible.

BraveSirRubin - you're entitled to your opinions, but your tactic of saying "I don't feel like proving any of my claims so you should just believe them" isn't very convincing.

I'm not in the business of convincing random strangers of trivial ideas.

It's relevant when you make a claim that the Qur'an is filled with violence. I haven't read a Qur'an filled with violence, so naturally I wonder which translation you've read.

I'm not really feeling a good ball sucking this morning. Maybe later.

Sorry, but no Quran is filled with violence, stop talking about subjects you have no clue about and actually look into the religion before you talk about it. And you have disgusting language, I dont see how anybody, especially the Arab people would like "your kind" or take you seriously.

I am not muslim. But I speak fluent Arabic and have been around muslim people for everyday of my life and can tell you that they are the most peaceful people you will ever meet. You are missing out with your extreme ignorance.

    I hope you get help.
    Salameyti.

Banning the Koran at this point would just fan the flames for the extremist (terrorist) and make life harder for the non-murdering Muslims. Just about every religion has extremist most of whom are few and far between, the tree doesn't need to be cut because of a few bad apples. Ignoring the impracticality of actually going about banning the Koran, it would still be too much trouble than it's worth.

most of you are americans, they, (arabs in iraq and afghans in afghanistan) see you guys as terrorist for invading their country and killing their people, also, more christians and domestic americans have done more harm to united states than people of islam have done to your country but you fail to see that. so if you want to ban anything, ban the bible.

    You sound just as prejudiced...

Yes, most of us are American but did you happen to notice that most people don't think it should be banned?

I don't think it should be banned. And if it was I think every other religious texts should be as well, including Christianity's.

If people think it possibly corrupts minds of some then so be it, and it may, but I really feel a lot of the people seem to forget the bigger picture. Unlike the Nazi's and the war THEY created, the Islamic groups did have to tolerate American forces looking for any excuses to start a fight with them. America wanted Oil, power, whatever, and they got quite a bit of retaliation.

I am not saying anyone is necessarily at fault, just feel there's no smoke without fire. I do feel the Koran does support some extremist laws, but it always has, and we never had much of a problem with this 'cult' before?

The twin tower attacks were completely awful, and there is no way I am defending any bullshit like that though. Terrorists are bad people, you can't blame a book for something like that. You have good and bad people in the world, regardless of what religion they are.

Except that 911 wasn't caused by Arab terrorists....

Anyway, America is lame, but we are not the only ones trying to get their oil and we are not the only country sending troops over there... the British sent quite a few troops over as well.

the Al-Qaeda are an Islamist group... so yeah I think they are arabic!

And I am British, and will insist that trying to place us in the same category as America is pretty futile. We are a tiny country in comparison, and we have never been 'planetary leaders', unlike the Americans. America wants to dominate, because it has, the United Kingdom follows, as it always will.

Frankly 99.9% of people here don't want any war, or any trouble. The only ones who do are the countries leaders, and they are just looking at the incentives over countries are offering them for being a part in the whole ordeal.

End of the day, I think Religion causes problems. Subsequently then it's easy to blame the Koran.

The United Kingdom dominated for a long time...

Ever hear of the phrase the sun never sets on the British Empire?
