I'd like to make the simple point that from 1095-1291, during the crusades Christians were just as violent and bloodthirsty as many modern Muslim extremists are today, not to mention the inquisitions from 1100 AD up to the 18-1900's. These were all very bloody times. And of course we have the Jewish death toll back 3-4 thousand years before. We shouldn't blame the muslims any more than we blame the jews or christians. It's all happened before in one form or another

you pray 2 times a day they pray 5

i dont think islam is bad only that it contains some flawed logic.
personally, i respect the idea that a person is willing to give their life for what they believe in.

they truely believe their is only one god, nand muhhamad is his prophet in which they follow his teachings, like christianity, only with different teachings i guess...

instead of right out killing the interpreted "infidel" Christians [generally speaking] scold you to no end. or like in the olden times place you on a bias trial inwhich there probably is no favorable out come.

either way nothing is too favorable or superior.

You could join these Islamic extremists quite easily. You're already half way there if you believe the Qur'an is full of violence. Not gonna bother? Why not? Because it's not true?! Maybe. I'd love to know how well you understand Arabic, or what sources you have, what translations you've looked into and where you did your studies.

It must be the "Soncino edition" of the Koran.

The "Soncino edition" is perhaps the ONLY version of the Koran that contains interpolations by the various rabbinical councils.

All religions contain flaws and have problems. That's a fact.

It is not the religion, but the man that is the problem.

I've never actually read the Qu'ran but I've heard it's incredibly beautiful. It has a real poetic quality to it, and it talks a lot about nature. I've also heard that it talks a lot about killing infidels so idk....

    It's both

Religious texts are always full of contradictions, I've never read one that wasn't. It makes it kind of hard to follow the religion if the text you're supposed to follow tells you to do two different things.

i think that religions should stay in their own country of origin. i know that sounds weird but i think that if people want to move to another country, they should be prepared to follow the religion there. i think it would be better if all countrys were self sufficisnt and didn't need eachother for trade unfortunately this will never happen :(

to diss on moussilini and then say the koran should be banned is funny.
fascism has nothing to do with marxism. fascism is the system of forcing everyone to agree on one belief. moussolini used it to put marxism in place but still has nothing to do with it. and ironically you're saying a book should be banned.

And they say that Muslims are strict and close minded.....

If you moved to Iran, would you accept Islam ? I dont think you would.
Okay, maybe YOU would, but some people take their religion and faith seriously. And that is totally okay, as long as they are not extremists.

What if a person needs to move 5 times to 5 different countries, with 5 different dominant religions ? Is he or she going to convert every time ?
Ugh, I hate to think how mild and lame that person would have to be.

Education is the key to the eradication of all religion. Islam in particular goes out of its way to shun pure science. For the most part they accept technology whole heartedly but try to disuade people from figuring out or thinking about how it works. Muslims feel knowledge of this type will seriously hinder their ability to indoctrinate more followers, of which they are absolutely correct.

i wouldn't, id stay in canada. my point was that if people complain about religions ruining their country (despite wether it's their country or not... land doesn't belong to people) then they should stay in their own, and if every country was self sufficiant then people wouldn't move country to country anyway. it wouldn't be like you have to convert, just you can't publiccly express your own religon in a country that doesn't follow that religion. kind of like when you have people who say thier catholics or christians etc here, then go and break everything that the church stands for

the bible is also filled with violence.

lots of "chosen people's" conquests going on there.
ironicly, everything is in the same regions, go figure people who live there haven't changed for thouands of year.

People seem to forget that Christianity and Islam and Judaism have the same roots... and they are violent roots.

honestly i have to say that my religios beliefs are watery shadows of what they once were, i was really into christianity but then as i got into it the less i liked it. no doubt that jesus lived and was a great man but god is kind of scary and anything that scares you into beleiving just doesn't sit right with me...
