Actually what we've been living in is a manipulated state of mass hysteria promoted by Cheney and company. They couldn't capture Bin Laden and they haven't been protecting us.

    So true.

Order out of chaos... and now our economic interests are being given away as well in by far the biggest bank heist in history.

Couldn't or wouldn't capture Bin Laden? My theory is they needed a foe to remain at large to furnish justification for the continued Afghan misadventures. Nothing about this administration suggests to me that they have the slightest bit of concern with out interests- not that I expect much more from the coming presidency- but I can hope. The more I hear and read, the more cause I have to question.

We saw how well they protected the citizens of the US during Katrina, and further by allowing tainted pet food, and human food stuffs enter the US from China. What real actions did they take to deal with those situations, and how could allowing our personal privacy to be invaded have had helped them protect us?

Thing is, it's pervasive. I don't need more shit to buy. And I don't want to be targeted, I don't need marketing departments trying to get inside my head. Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need a psychologist working for IBM targeting me as a potential customer. I don't agree with tailoring their business practices to include keeping tabs on my habits, my inner thoughts, my lifestyle.

That has nothing to do with producing the best product possible and running a sustainable business with ethically sound policies and practicing social responsibility.

It's just about collecting data to sell more shit.

If you tell the advertisers all of the above, they will listen. And if other folks that feel the same way let them know, also, you'll start seeing changes.

i expect they're flailing around right now: Commercial TV isn't the medium of choice any more and lots more folks are surfing the internet for entertainment. Right now, they're trying to figure out how to advertise to us, without making us so angry that we would never, EVER buy their products.

i go to websites to leave comments ~ heck, if you don't talk to them, they just get worse...
