I've been offered to instruct Muay Thai classes before. I won't do it till I get back from Thailand, but it's something I've strongly considered.


And, should self defense classes be open to women because one jerk off got kicked in the balls? Should women have tecnnique to help them defend themselves against attackers?

Theres much more violence commited against women then by them. You can't restrict knowledge in a free state. Self defense is an art fom and sport as much as it is for defense.

this classes are SPONSORED by the governement (respectivley by the city government or whatever you call it, doesnt matter, its the taxpayers money !) the one Im talking about is to take place in a "Jugendtreff" dont know the exact translation, the idea is to get antisocial youths off the streets by offering places where they can meet under supervision. I have no problems with this, apart that I think its a waste of time and money, but when they teach them to ATTACK people, thats where I draw the line !!!

 

self defence is, oddly enough, not about attacking people but about defending yourself against those who take the first aggression ie slapping around a child in your care

 

Over 6 for kids class. For both classes a willingness and enthuasiam to learn.

For advanced classes, a respect for the martial and art side of lethwai.

Respect for the martial side means proper restraint, and respect for the art side means dedication.

Theres a distinct advantage in having women learn to defend themselves. Anything that can be used for defense can also be used or attack, but that doesn't mean you should deny knowledge on the chance that someone misuses it. If anything, all the serious martial artists I know are completly docile after they've trained.

I would say it gives you much more understanding and respect for the fact that you are essentially learning refined violence.
