Becuase its often near impossible to even get them to admit that, that the arent really talking about physical pain. Because then the argument denegrates down to ok, what are you really talking about then.

A lot of guys dont quite understand. A lot of misunderstanding between the sexes

We had a couple in the news this week.

One New Zealand woman that made up a story about getting gang raped after a Tinder hookup, then retracted it

Then this one, which is pretty insidious, how many police resources has she tied up that would have gone to hunting down actual sex traffickers, I think this one should really deserve like a 10 yr jail term

If I were a rapist, I would probably capitalize on the vulnerability of someone who is labelled a "Cry Wolf Offender." After all, who's going to believe them?

There was a guy on the sex offender registry who was killed by a vigilanty in my state.

What was he on the registry for??? He was an 18 year old junior in highschool who had sex with his 15 year old freshman in highschool girlfriend.

Now I was in highschool once and I clearly remember freshmen girls pursuing older boys. These girls didn't want anything to do with boys their own age.

Now it may be inapropriate for an 18 year old to have a sexual relationship with a 15 year old, but believe me, no one was twisting those girls arms to go out with older boys.

Personally, it worked out for me that I always went out with older girls in highschool, but I'm tellin ya, I was definitely not the norm, folks, not the norm.

sounds like he broke your states statutory rape law ...so he must have been on the registry for a rape conviction

I glanced over this and my read...

"Should people who rape alligators be required to register as sex offenders?"

And the answer is no. I suspect they'll get what's comming to them. The fury of a gator scorned.

Ok, vanilla, I'll see if I can pull on my mad skills (ha) and say why rape is a special hell.

    Let's say stranger rape, first.
The attack is painful and frightening on a very basic level. There's a sense that you will never be safe again, and often, relationships that were healthy die in the trauma of healing. (And healing can happen) this includes non-intimate relationships.
There's a difference between dysfunctional healing from a car crash or nasty fight injuries.
Our sexuality is a root of who we are, from a biological and physical sense, to an energetic sense.

There's the pain of the rape itself, especially with "by instrumentation."
Let me say here that a full power curling iron does irreparable damage.
Imagine something like a tree branch used rectally. Like happened to a friend when he came out. (Yeah, males get raped. A lot. And they have an even harder time getting convictions and subsequent support services.)

    Now date/acquaintance rape.
Pain, likely to run the gamut. From raw to, well, see above.
It's hard, sometimes impossible to ever make bonds with another human. A rape can psychologically scar someone for life.
Yes, a bad car accident can, too. But likely most people will be able to ride in a vehicle, if not drive.

rape is a form of abuse. It's using a position of power or trust and doing harm with it.

When it comes to the psychological and social side, false allegations are equivalently damaging, plus the defendant will likely lose jobs, relationships, homes, etc.

So, I do see rape as a special case. I'm just unconvinced, and less so as I age, that registries do anything helpful.
Pedos? Sure. Kids make it extra special, and we owe the least able to defend themselves a layer of protection. They might not get what's really going on, depending on the grooming the offender is doing.

But the public urinator and the flasher are pretty harmless.

I'm betting this has holes the size of Alaska. This is a first time for me to write this out.
