    ^!!!^

the mind can alter itself, thats what meditation is. the mind has the ability to heal things throughout the body. i know some of you guys dont believe that, but i know this from people who have fought off diseases and other physical and mental disorders. i know atleast 3 people who have over came cancer, and did not have any treatments such as kemotherapy. ive seen depressed people go into meditation and become cured from their mental disease of sadness. the mind is more powerful than what you guys give it credit for.

What about people who munch too much ecstasy and have permanently altered serotonin levels that will never properly adjust themselves. No amount of meditation can cure something like that. I don't know, i think meditation only works if you want it too work. Kind of like how some people can find solace and life everlasting through religion and prayer while others can't. It's all a matter of of psychosomatic beliefs. Shit, if you really believe that drinking 10 glasses of milk a day will relieve irritable bowel syndrome, you'll probably feel less pain as a result...even though medically you're not really changing anything or gaining any real positive benefit. I read an article once that claimed meditation was all self imposed mind trickery, and it played off the fact that the human mind craves the supernatural intuitively; than again, it was just a hypothesis...maybe meditation is a miracle cure: who knows...it just doesn't seem feasible to me.

And also, many people who are depressed arnt depressed due to a chemical inbalance, more just situational and environmental shit. I can see why meditation could cure something like that. But the prior im not sure of...

Yeah meditation can only do so much (and I think exercise and a good environment/lifestyle is more important still), but it can help a lot.
There's a time and place for the likes of Zoloft.
It should be medicine, not marketted indifference.
