I think I know the answer here and it's probably "no". Anyway, we have had soaring temperatures and blazing sunshine here in the UK. There is a country park a short walk from me covering several acres. Families and children tend to stay near the entrance where the facilities are. Only the odd dog-walker or runner seems to venture into the rest of it, so it is mostly deserted. I genuinely enjoy the peace and quiet, and the exercise, and have been going for walks in just my shorts, which I remove when I can see there is no one ahead, and walk naked for short spells. However it gets frustrating and nerve-wracking having to constantly think about covering up, and I am wondering whether to just go for it and brazen it out if I meet anyone who says anything. Today I passed only four people in two hours, two of whom hardly seemed to notice me. Seems daft to worry about so few people and I would mainly get away with it. Thoughts?
Don't care if you read it or not. It is a bit long winded to be fair. Main thing is....correct answer!!
I know exactly how you feel. I too have sought out secluded places where I could be nude in a natural setting. And yes, there is a nagging feeling of being spotted, and needing to be on the lookout. But when I felt I could relax about if if was truly wonderful. I was spotted from a distance a couple of times, but never faced to face. I now restrict myself to being nude at a naturist club that has short nature trails and nice grounds with a large pool. In answer to your question, I say yes, go for it and let us know how it turns out for you.
Thank you for your encouragement. I think I answered my own question though. It would only take one person to be "caused alarm or distress" and I'd end up in court and probably (ludicrously) put on the Sex Offenders Register. I do belong to a club like yours and it's very freeing to walk through their grounds. What I don't like though is being identified as the dreaded "single male" with all its connotations. I mean those types who lurk in the bushes and appear en masse as a gaggle of silent zombie wankers whenever a naked female appears. All very seedy. I find nudist beaches similar: all the meerkats pop up from behind the rocks. I just want to be free to enjoy the air round me and the sun on me, and to dress or not dress as I choose. I may still go for it. I'm thinking I could tough out any encounter by making a friendly greeting and maybe a comment about their dog, to show I'm not a weirdo. Or maybe down a few pints before I set out.
My wife and I used to go together to the naturist club but she no longer wants to. I went alone once but didn’t feel at all self conscious about being a lone male. And I’ve never really found it to feel seedy. People act pretty cool and respectful. I find it very peaceful and relaxing. I do understand the fear of maybe being arrested with embarrassing charges. Here in the US, parkland run by the federal government does not have laws against nudity. When I did go ‘nuding’ in secluded places I’d try to do it on federal land.
I like how Nudony's reply is based on a neutral stance where he's not blatantly saying "go for it!", or a clear "no, don't do it!". It really depends on multiple factors like he essentially suggests. He's a very experienced nudist, too. I agree with what he's said on this thread so far.
Thanks for the helpful replies, guys. Yes, I guess it boils down to a sensible decision based on risk. Though even in 13,000 acres I'd still be worrying about someone suddenly appearing out of nowhere, as people tend to do. I think I've got it as good as it's going to get by cheating. I wear a pair of light shorts with the between leg bit cut out, so I'm effectively wearing a skirt but to the casual observer it still looks like shorts. I've passed several people wearing only this, without a second glance. I've even walked around the neighbourhood like this, which is very freeing. OK, so not naked in the strictest sense, but the next best thing.
I don't know much about the law in the UK, but I'm pretty sure that there's no link between "causing alarm and distress" and being put on any sex offender registry. Basically, annoying people with nudity, unless it's clear that there's a sexual motive, isn't a serious crime. If you're on Facebook, you could look for the Naturist Ramblers (England and Wales) group and ask there. They'd be sure to know, in fact you might even find some friends to do some walks with.
Your idea of doing your nudism where no one can see you is great.. You know and I know, if one child sees you, you will be hauled in and dragged through the papers, .. My thoughts, being from the UK.. take your chances and do as your doing, also join a nudist club.. they have nude swims which can be great fun, couples and singles.. There are also nude beaches in the UK.. Main thing.. have safe fun!
Hi, i guess the situation you describe sounds pretty conducive for a walk in the nude. But anyway, some thoughts: First, hear to your inner voice. You should only go bare if you feeling is good for. Secondly, I would recommend taking a pair of shorts or at least swimming trunks or a loin cloth with you so you can cover up if someone feels bothered. Of course it might feel better if you leave back your clothes somewhere and go without any, but probably it’s a good signal to have something to cover for the case someone complains. Thirdly, I share the idea that going not alone might help to ease possible encounter situations. I think it’s not so very important if the other goes nude or clothed, just the fact you have a companion can unwind the situation. And fourthly, unfortunately I know nothing about the legal state of nudity in public places in GB, but I guess in the worst case it’s only an offense of public order and not a crime.
I agree with the later parts of your suggestions. It only takes one person to get him into a lot of trouble for all the wrong reasons. A lot of parks have wardens and many of these guys are wanabe police officers who would jump at any excuse to exercise their powers.
You are right of course, but the park and footpaths leading to it were strangely deserted yesterday (prob too hot for most people) so I went for it for long stretches. Very freeing, though the shower was calling by the time I got back!
I went to a beach that nudists flock to but is not a legal nude beach. My first several times I was cautious. The very first time "I went for it" I was just laying nude when a ranger drove up on me. Couple hundred dollar ticket for that mistake.
Absolute bummer. At least it was a fine and not an arrest, accusation of perversion, etc. Nearest I've come to that is a legitimate nude beach where some random do-gooder decided to shout at people to cover up. I now tend not to bother as you can never be sure what class of idiot you'll find there, plus you get all the meerkats popping up every time a female appears.
I did read your post and I'm going to give a calculated "no". A few things to think about is: What is the repercussions of getting caught, worst case, what can they do to you legally? Someone already stated about the fines/penalties, so is it worth the trouble? You're already nervous and hesitant that you will get caught. The minimal amount of people you may encounter, will probably posses that one thing that gives people power of the media at their fingertips- a phone with a camera, which can also be given to the police for evidence. Do you have kids? Imagine if someone's kids see you, and how upset that might make thier parents? Just find somewhere you can go legally nude.
I'm quite new to the naturist thing so keeping it legal by in my backgarden and going to a club/ holidays. Can't seem to work out the hangup with seeing someone with no clothes! Must be the confusion over mixing being naked for sex , nobody bats an eyelid when as a kid you run around starkers and skinny dip! I'm a go for it as much as poss as life is to short to worry about things! Enjoy nakedness
