outlawing guns wont stop them from being illegaly produced and obtained..
of course it would be wonderful if we could live in a world without guns but it is not possible

What is there really to debate here? killing people is bad. But guns are not going anywhere. And if you like gun control, look at the failure that was britans gun control.

I don't own a gun, but when someone tries to tell me I can't own a gun, you can bet your sweet ass I'll get one as fast as I can. It's kind of like how when my RA asked why I had a safe, I told him that his question alone justified my ownership of said safe. If no one's trying to step on your toes, then they wouldn't need to take your tool for dealing with said toe stepping.

my imaginary country takes this approach to guns, cars, and recreationally consumed neurotropic substances, alcohaul included.

Nothing? Your imaginary country sounds like a return to pre-settlement times. If everyone had to take total responsibility for their own lifes needs and desires, the worlds population would diminish greatly, and rapidly. Maybe that's not such a bad idea after all?

 

In reality guns cannot be banned without also banning gun powder,black powder,air,and everything that will provide the force to hurl a projectile.

A steel pipe can be formed into a "gun" in most any garage,thus arguing gun control is completely political.

 

Of all of the rights guaranteed by our constitution, the 2d amendment has kept us free.

Actually it's pretty awesome. You can't do it here since you need a permit to go to a shooting range in CT, but down south people who work at shooting ranges say Europeans on vacation are often their biggest customers.

I dunno, I suppose we have got along ok without ever using guns, everybody here is perfectly happy to stab each other instead! If it ain't broke, no need to fix it, it seems

 

we have the right to bear arms. therefore, under the law, we have the right to carry guns. its just the way it is. however, personally, I don't think the world should've invented guns, and I think they do more harm than good...so I'm kinda....inbetween i guess either way works.
