Hell. No. You don't wanna go to war, you don't go. plain and fucking simple. No one should be forced into risking their life for stuff they don't beleive in.
Maybe we should draft all the males, evacuate the holy land, set ém up a nice place in Montana, and Nuke the holy land until it's so radioactive, nothing grows their for 100,000 years. If the chosen people can't return to the holy land, the biblical end of the world can't happen. Book of Revalations. So we've saved the world, prevented a lot of tension in the Mideast, and now have something useful to do with Montana.
I think being in the military requires a certain kind of person. My boyfriend, for instance, was a sargent during his second term in the army and he loved that lifestyle. But someone who doesn't like the routine lifestyle shouldn't join the military. Being an obligation? Not for everyone but for some, it is really beneficial
Let me tell you a short story about a man with 2 brothers who went to Vietnam. The older brother ended his tour of duty early. He got to come home to his family in beautiful box that we decided to keep safe by burying it in the ground. The younger brother was first stationed in the good old USA but then later sent to Vietnam. He completed his tour and it origionally appeared that he had returned home to his family safe and sound. But later when he started to excrete his internal organs, it was discovered that he had been a non-consentual test subject in Project SHAD. His futre wife would have 3 children. The first 2 would be born dead and the 3rd extremly handicapped. Who would also later die when he was 13 years. This younger brother also never got any disablity for health problems that resulted from his "non-consentual" participation in the project and in 1995, he died by bleeding from all of his orfices. I being the middle brother decided to dodge military service by hiding out in school. I lived to watch my parents borrow money from me because Uncle Sam never likes to save his money for important things like tanks and politician lunches. I also got to see my surviving brother live out his life in pain and constantly being told to shut up and to go away by government and military officials. But there is a happy ending to this story. Our family name continues because I have grandchildren and I'm wise enough to teach them that they should never be so patriotic as to become blind to the truth. And that is your health, your future and those you love must always come before the needs of your nation.
My question wasn't about a draft as much as should American men feel an obligation to serve in the military after 9/11.
Why should they? If anything, I think 9/11 is a sign that more people should feel obligated to help their fellow man. Whether through rescue services, or just by living a good life. We could fight terrorists forever; all it's gonna do is lead to more bloodshed.
So 9/11 doesn't need to be avenged? If the war is lost in Afghanistan, then what? You should want to help the forces in Afghanistan if you are a man (just my opinion.)
lol what happens if America looses the Afghanistan war? OUR TROOPS COULD USE ALL THE HELP THAT THEY CAN GET...!
That would mean that we would have 120+ million men over seas. The conflicts would be escalated because of a VERY enlarged presence. That would be nothing less of a conquest. Leaving nothing but women, children and teenagers to defend, produce, care take and grow our food. You would really want to put that on them? I mean aside from the obvious sexist pretense your coming from, your talking about a full mobilization of the male sex to go and comb some desert for a bearded guy that will die soon anyway, it'd leave us kind of open for a kidney shot, don't you think? Ever get the idea, that this kind of strategy is EXACTLY what they want?
our troops could use all the help that they can get...! (I wanted that in all caps, but there seems to be some problem...)
The Taliban which was harboring Bin Laden fell, and theres a sort of democratic government in place. Bin Laden's dead. How much more retaliation do you need? Also your sig makes me think you're trolling.
Well yeah, the contrast I mean. His signature implies he is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, yet 9/11 is his justification for the draft. Classic troll move.
