ive worked around it by doing more than one thing at a time and constantly switching between them and adding other things as a few get gone the only way to finish one task (for me) is to have many on the go..otherwise nothing gets done
the instant gratification culture pretty much nails it. people have actually been brainwashed into preferring excitement over interest or even gratification. that's why we see so much collectively self destructive craziness in how nearly everything is managed, the exagerated worship of money, and that so many people would rather spend hours working on their car, or slave for days, working at something totally unrelated to their interests, to pay someone else to do so, then read a book for fifteen minuets, sitting on a bench waiting for a bus. and of course that's just how our corporate tv wizard masters want it, to keep us gullible and their hands in our pockets.
