Vegetarian and vegan dinners are in the oven. In the meantime, I'm relaxing on my bed with a glass of wine and some salami slices.

Snow here, too. I considered bringing my office laptop home in case I wanted to opt for working from home because of snow. However Deanna assured me that I would want to come into the office tomorrow. So like a fool I took her word.

You have hypoglycemia? I have that. I discovered it in college, thanks to a girl in my biochem lab group. When I told her I felt like I was going to pass out every morning in lab, she asked me some questions and said I probably had hypoglycemia. She lended me a book about it, and after reading the book I stopped putting two heaping teaspoons of sugar in my coffee before lab. And that was all it took - my fainting feelings stopped completely after that.

I don't know. This happens to me very rarely. I can only remember it happening like 3 or 4 times in that last 10 years.

It's a bitch. I get really strong, jerky tremors all over...even my voice. It's takes a while to recover.

The Dark Knight? The young man who gave up everything he had to find out what he could become? The man who transformed his fears into his strengths and thus became a major force for transforming the world?

    Yeah, I suppose I like him. A little. :D

The key is to avoid purified sugar as much as possible. Ice cream, cake frosting, candy, etc. And avoid simple starches by themselves, especially potatoes and rice - cuz those get changed almost immediately to pure sugar in your mouth. Go for complex carbohydrates - whole grains. The idea is to give your body carbs that take some time to digest, and release insulin from your pancreas at a moderate level. Those of us with hypoglycemia have hair-trigger insulin responses. If we eat too much sugar at one time, it triggers a strong release of insulin from our pancreas, which prompts the cells of our bodies to suck sugar from our blood at such a furious rate that our blood sugar drops to levels too low to maintain normal brain functions. So we need to be careful about sugar and pure starch.

All I know is that had been about 12 hours since I ate two pieces of bacon, two eggs, and two pieces of toast. I'd been working my ass off around the house. I think I just got hungry and tired.

Okay well, going too long without eating causes the same problem. Twelve hours is way too long. You need something to snack on every three to four hours to maintain blood sugar levels.

Also btw, caffeine without food will exacerbate low blood sugar issues. Caffeine promotes sugar absorption by body cells, just like insulin does.

A protein-rich diet like the one you describe is good. You just can't go that long without eating something.

Ideally, weekly, with a little laundry detergent and some oxy clean...maybe every 10 days in Winter because I'm not perspiring during the night.

In Summer, at least weekly or more often if I woke up a little sweaty during the night.

If I'm in a sexual relationship, and towels on the bed didn't keep the sheets clean, then I wash or change them as needed. :D

I try to wash my sheets at least once a year, whether they need it or not. Best to do it in early spring, before the spider eggs hatch.
