Back in the '70s I was into Eastern Philosophy and the Aum is a part of Hindu and Buddhist tradition - the universal sound of creation/preservation/destruction.

I had a silver pendant that I wore with this symbol on it, which I no longer have. Don't know where it went, may have given it away in India. So I will probably keep this one for a while.

Thnx. I think I am done for a while, but u never know when I might just have to go get some more ink. I like Egyptian - maybe Eye of Horace but the Aunk is too common (not like a Peace Symbol ) Actually, a scarab of my own design is working in my head as I write this.

 

I havent seen biker tattoo artists ever. Ive been to a few places. The one nearest to me just has average people but theyre tatted up. I guess theyre just people interested in art who do tattoos as a living. The one with average people has the white guy who owns it, a white lady, (both are not that old, under 45 i think) a younger puerto rican guy whos like in his 20's and an asain guy whos probably in his mid 20's too.

 

I'm also led to question the motivation of the person who started this thread... think about it, to purposely go into the body mod forum and throw a stink bomb like that???

Tattoos aren't for me, although the self-inscribed tats done with the ink taken from a ball-point pen and a needle in prison are extremely attractive. I also really appreciate the men who have had their latest beau's name tattooed on their arms and then, once dumped, they get them scored through and the next woman's name put underneath.

It's all so romantic and touching, it makes my eyes mist up.

JesuCristo, we all know what Trolls are and if they are blatant enuf we try not to feed them.

But, when a member of the board with over 500 posts makes WHAT I CONSIDER a fucked up comment, I feel obliged, even duty bound to take him to task.

Yes, his sexist, conservative post against women with tats in a body modification forum is troll-like behavior but we ALL trounced on it setting the tone of tat acceptance in OUR community. I don't think the OP has been back to deal with the wrath.

Now, as for someone coming in, admonishing all of us who were in agreement to set the OP str8, provoking an emotional response from us; doesn't that qualify for the above definition of Troll? :toetap05:

 

not everyone "fed the troll" if you will. there were just enough people who came in here acting like the OP put them in tears that i thought it needed to be commented on. and while neither of the posters that responded to me were guilty of it, there were several responses to this thread to the effect of "OP's opinion is wrong because tattoos are great."

i don't think the OP ever intended to come back and post in this thread again. i'm sure it worked beyond even his wildest expectations as it is. the fact that he has 500 posts does not keep him from being an obvious troll.

oh well, i don't care one way or the other. if people think i'm the one being a troll here, i'll just stop posting in this thread.

in my opinion, a person's body is their temple which they should openly decorate as they so please. tatoos arn't my thing, i don't think i'll ever get any, but i don't mind if other people have them. i always appreciate good art.

 

Hell, I kinda agree, I think that 99% of all tattoos I've ever seen are fucking ugly as hell.

But it's really not that big of a deal.

Yet... girls who have tattoos are statistically easier and have a higher potential of having the herp.

maby you should take a little focus off your concern for objectifying woman and put more focus into your own life. im sure that theres something about you that repulses many woman as much as tatoos repulse you.
