Shit show weekend

Long story short I'm having a bunch of work done to my backyard, so the contractor was over and my dogs were all riled up running around and in our way.

So I gave them each a rawhide bone hoping they'd lay down and eat the things. They end up fighting over one, one of the dogs gets bit on the ear and it swelled up like a balloon in a matter of minutes.

I called the emergency vet and was grabbing his leash, dog jumps over and hits my nose. It crunches, blood everywhere. Now I'm sitting in the pet ER with a bloody nose and about to pay some ungodly vet bill because my dog is going into fuckin SURGERY. For a little scrap over a bone? Fuck me

 

That will teach you not to move faster than they can!

Seriously I hope your dog is going to be fine and will have a nice new sewn up ear and they will both be back to their well behaved selves in no time.

I am sure they are sorry.......bigger bones next time!

PS Don't feel too badly I once did an emergency call on a weekend to find out my dog had a shiner.

Damn dev! Not a great weekend in your house. I hope you and your dog are feeling better soon. I'm just wondering what others are thinking seeing the 2 of you. Who won that fight?

I'm so sick of dogs right now I could drop kick both of them!

Just went out to my car to grab a smoke and locked my keys in it. Asked the vet techs for a coat hanger or metal rod and they didn't have one.. Told me to call pop a lock. So I broke into it with a piece of wood and a palm frond I found laying on the ground, with a bleeding nose. Lol I can't make this up.

This has to be the worst day I've had in years. Just waiting for the next disaster.

 

When it rains it pours my friend. I hope you make it home safely.

 

It'll be a long time before I have a bunch. But either way at least I can terminate stupid people. I can't blame dogs for doing stupid things.

 

At this point I will be surprised if I do, I have to take I95 to get back to the beach. I'll probably get run over by a semi. Just walked down to a little Italian joint and having a Stella and some fantastic food. Might as well make the last dinner a good one :2thumbsup:

 

Silver linings. At least you get good food!

 

If I make it past today, I'm marrying an Italian woman. And just get fat together.

I know right, he looks so pathetic and sad. My nose hurts and is randomly bleeding still but it looks normal so that's good.

Yeah.. I feel really bad for him. The other dog literally just nipped the very end of his ear and must've hit a blood vessel because they drained 80cc of blood out of his ear..

I had to hold his food bowl up so he could eat, that Elizabethan collar is ridiculous he is helpless with that thing on. I'm just glad he's ok. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should stay home tomorrow or take him to work and just leave him in the office.

 

It would probably be best that you are around tomorrow as he may need to be reminded to leave it on. We had a shar pei that had eye surgery and she was not pleased when she realized it was staying on. Took a few days for her to adjust to it. Even if he is in the office you can at least check on him and make sure he is drinking and such.

I knew you would spoil him a little.

 

Sorry that this happened. Hopefully this means you have cleared your karma and good things can happen now.

Obedience school might be a good investment.

I think you can try to do the training on your own also.
